Clinical Observation Of Lateral Puncture Combined With Moxibustion In The Treatment Of External Epicondylitis Of Humerus(Wind-Cold Obstruction Of Collaterals)

Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the reliability of this method,that was,lateral puncture combined with moxibustion in the treatment of external humeral epicondylitis(wind-cold obstruction collateral type).By comparing with the common acupuncture combined with moxibustion group,we observed the clinical efficacy of lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group on pain visual analogue score(VAS),elbow joint function score(MEPS)and painless grip strength(PFG).This study was to explore the modern application of the ancient method just like lateral puncture,and to provide a new idea and method for the treatment of external humeral epicondylitis cured by traditional Chinese medicine.Methods: In this study,62 patients with external humeral epicondylitis who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were divided into lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group and lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group,31 cases in each group.Two groups of patients were treated once every other day,10 days as a course of treatment and each course of treatment rest for two days.After two courses of treatment,the curative effect was evaluated.The observation indexes were VAS,Mayo score and PFG.The data were analyzed by SPSS24.0 software in order to analyze the clinical efficacy of lateral puncture combined with moxibustion in the treatment of external humeral epicondylitis.Result: 1.The treatment results of two groups showed that the total effective rate of lateral puncture combined with moxibustion in the treatment of external humeral epicondylitis with syndrome of wind-cold obstructing collaterals was 96.67%,which was higher than that of ordinary acupuncture combined with moxibustion group(82.76%)(P<0.05,with statistical significance).2.In the respect of improving elbow pain,the VAS score of the two groups after treatment was lower than that before treatment(P < 0.05);after treatment,the VAS score of the lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group was 1.77±0.68,lower than that of the ordinary acupuncture combined with moxibustion group,which was 2.59±1.12.The difference between the two groups was significant(P < 0.05),indicating that the lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group had more obvious effect in relieve the elbow pain.3.Mayo score of the two groups after treatment is higher than that before treatment(P<0.05);Mayo score of the lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group was 79.33 ±13.24,higher than that of the ordinary acupuncture combined with moxibustion group 72.41±11.92,the difference between the two groups was significant(P<0.05),indicating that the lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group had better effect on elbow joint function recovery.4.The PFG of the two groups after treatment was higher than that before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment,the PFG of the lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group was 25.00±4.08,which was higher than that of the ordinary acupuncture combined with moxibustion group 22.79±3.95.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group had better effect in improving the painless grip strength.Conclusion: The two schemes in this study could effectively alleviate the pain of elbow in patients with external humeral epicondylitis,facilitate the recovery of elbow motion function,and effectively improve the painless grip strength of patients.Lateral puncture combined with moxibustion group is superior to ordinary acupuncture combined with moxibustion group in improving the VAS score,Mayo score and PFG,and has obvious advantages in the total effective rate of treatment.The method of which combined lateral puncture with moxibustion for the treatment of external humeral epicondylitis is effective,safe and convenient,and worthy of further clinical promotion.
