The Effect Of Acupuncture Combined With Wheat-grain Size Cone Moxibustion On Motor Function And ADL In Patients With Acute Cerebral Infarction

Objective:To observe the effect of acupuncture combined with wheat-grain size cone moxibustion on nerve function, motor function and life quality in patients with acute cerebral infarction, and discuss its clinical significance.Methods:According to the inclusion criteria,47 patients with acute cerebral infarction were selected by randomly divided into two groups, with 24 cases in treatment group and 23 cases in control group. Both 2 groups were given routine drug treatment, on this basis, the treatment group was treated by acupuncture combined with wheat-grain size cone moxibustion,while the control group only acupuncture treatment. The motor function level, daily life abilit y and nervous functional defect of the two groups patients were assessed respectively by using brief Fugl-Meyer assessment methods, Barthel’s ADL indexes and National In-stitutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) before and after treatment.The change of each index, and the difference of the index between the two groups were adopted for analy-sis and comparison before and after treatment.Results:1. After 2 weeks treatment, the indicators of the treatment group and the control group were compared before and after the treatment, the scores of Fugl-Meyer and MB I were significantly improved and the scores of NIHSS were significantly decreased, which has statistical significance compared those before treatment (P＜0.01).2. There was no significant difference between the the scores of the indicators of the two groups before treatment (P>0.05),they were comparable; there was no statistical significance in the comparison between the indicators’scores of the two groups after 2 weeks treatment too (P>0.05).Conclusion:1. Both the treatment group and the control group can effectively promote the resumption of nervous functional defect, aslo the level of motor function and the ability of daily life in acute cerebral infarction patients.2. The degree of the improvement of each function of patients with acute cerebral. infarction hemiplegia was similar, the statistical results did not show the advantages of wheat-grain size cone moxibustion treatment.
