The pressures experienced by individuals can be divided into two types.One is “good” pressure,that is,challenging pressure.It is the pressure that the individual has positive effects on individual work attitudes and work behaviors at work.One is “bad” pressure,which is the obstructive pressure.It is a factor or requirement in the work or organization that is regarded as a work disorder by the individual.These two stresses exist in the individual at the same time and change with the individua l's feelings.However,the existing research on stress mainly focuses on its antecedent variables or its outcome variables,few people study whether the pressures of individuals at different time points will transform to each other.In this paper,we propose a different time-point pressure conversion model with emotional exhaustion and work input as mediators.The study used a scientific research method to conduct a questionnaire survey.The sample was 146 nurses from 4 hospitals in Shanxi Province,and the data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 statistical software.First,we performed a reliability analysis on the scale,and then make the correlation analysis and descriptive statistical analysis to the variables.Finally,using the regression analysis of SPSS 18.0,the six hypotheses proposed in this paper were verified.This study mainly draws the following conclusions.Firstly,the same kind of pressure has a significant correlation at different time points.Between different kinds of pressures,only the obstructive pressure of the previous period has a significant correlation with the challenging pressure of the latter period,and vice versa.Secondly,the work engagement plays a mediating role between the challenging pressure in the previous period and the challenging pressure in the later period.Emotional depletion mediates the obstructive pressures of the previous period and the obstructive pressures of the later period,the obstructive pressures o f the previous period and the challenging pressures of the later period.The main theoretical significance of this study is to discuss the internal transformation relationship of pressure and explore the transformation path between pressures.The practical significance of this paper is that it provides constructive advice for managers to regulate different levels of stress among employees.
