Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the clinical efficacy of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs by observing the changes of subjective symptoms and visual quality after treatment with pranoprofen and sodium hyaluronate in patients with moderate dry eye. Methods: A prospective, randomized, parallel controlled study collected patients with moderate dry eye(86 cases)who were admitted to the ophthalmology clinic of Hunan Provincial People's Hospital from February 2018 to February 2019.The patients were divided into two groups randomly: group A and group B.In group A,the patients were treated with sodium hyaluronate four times a day,one drop at a time.In group B,they were treated with pranoprofen and sodium hyaluronate four times a day and the interval between two drugs was 5-10 minutes. The evaluation indicators included Ocular Surface disease index(OSDI),Objective Scatter Index(OSI),and modulation transfer function cut off frequency(MTF cut off),Strehl Ratio(SR),objective visual acuity(OVA100%),and Mean Objective Scatter Index(Mean OSI)which were measured before treatment,14 days and 28 days after treatment.Result:(1)The OSDI scores of the two groups after treatment were improved than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).In addition, the OSDI scores of group B lower than group A at14 days and 28 days after treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)The OSI value,Mean OSI value,SR value,OVA100% and MTF cut-off value of group A were not changed significantly(P> 0.05).In group B,the OSI,Mean OSI value were decreased over time, meanwhile, the MTF cut-off value and SR value of the patients were increased. The differences were statistically significant at each time point after treatment(P<0.05).OVA100% value of group B was increased at 28 days after treatment, the differences was statistically significant(P < 0.05).(3)There were no significant differences among OSI value,MTF cut-off value,SR value,OVA100% value and Mean OSI value for the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The OSI value and Mean OSI value of group B lower than group A at 14 days and 28 days after treatment, the MTF cut-off value of group B higher than group A at 14 days and 28 days after treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The SR value and OVA100% value of group B higher than group A at 28 days after treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Both Sodium hyaluronate and pranoprofen combined with sodium hyaluronate can improve the subjective feeling of patients with moderate dry eye,but the effect of pranoprofen combined with sodium hyaluronate is better than that of sodium hyaluronate;2.Pranoprofen combined with sodium hyaluronate can improve the visual quality of patients with moderate dry eye;3.It is significant for the efficacy assessment of patients with moderate dry eye to combine objective dual-channel visual quality analysis system(OQAS)with subjective ocular surface disease index questionnaire(OSDI score).
