ObjectiveTo investigate the status of professional identity,quality of life and job satisfaction of male nurses in Qingdao.The relationship between professional identity,quality of life and job satisfaction was discussed and analyzed the influencing factors of male nurses' job satisfaction.This study will provide a theoretical basis for nursing managers to improve the passion and to enhance job satisfaction for male nurses,and further promote the stability and development of the male nurses.MethodsIn this study,315 male nurses in Qingdao were selected by the convenient sampling method.The questionnaires were surveyed using the general information questionnaire,the nurse's professional identity scale,the quality of life scale,and the nurse's job satisfaction scale.The statistical data SPSS21.0 was used to analyze the data obtained by the institute.The frequency and percentage of the application were used to describe the demographic data of male nurses.Comparison of scores of professional identity,quality of life and job satisfaction among male nurses with different characteristics by t test or one-way analysis of variance,the items with statistically significant differences were compared in pairwise.Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of male nurses' professional identity,quality of life and job satisfaction.The relationship between the three variable were analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis.Multiple linear regression analysis was carried out to analyze the influencing factors of male nurses' professional identity and quality of life on job satisfaction.Results1.The total score of male nurses' professional cognition in qingdao was 102.91±15.29.The average scores of all dimensions range from high to low in order of professional social support(3.68±0.59),professional self-reflection(3.51±0.70),dealing with professional frustration(3.45±0.61),professional social skills(3.35±0.64),professional identity evaluation(3.28±0.67).2.The total score of quality of life of male nurses in qingdao was 205.44±37.52.The average scores of all dimensions range from high to low in order of psychological field(9.53±2.40),social field(8.80±1.77),physiological field(8.26±1.50),environmental field(6.76±1.87).3.Male nurse job satisfaction' total score in qingdao was 65.24 ± 6.83.The average scores of all dimensions range from high to low in order of salary and welfare(1.98±0.42),administration(1.83±0.44),the workload(1.81±0.40),personal growth and development(1.78±0.37),balance between family and work(1.74± 0.34),relationships with colleagues(1.67±0.54),work recognition(1.63± 0.30),work itself(1.47±0.34).The result of univariate analysis of variance showed that working years,initial qualification,highest degree,hospital level,nature of employment,job title,monthly income were statistically signifience(P<0.05).4.The correlation among professional identity,quality of life and job satisfaction were as follow: professional identity was positively collelated with quality of life(r =0.641,P<0.01);professional identity was positively correlated with job satisfaction(r=0.533,P<0.01);quality of life was positively correlated with job satisfaction(r=0.677,P<0.01).Quality of life is the mediating effect of job identity and job satisfaction.The mediating effect was 68.43%.Multiple linear regression showed that the highest degree,job title,monthly income,professional identity and quality of life were important factors influencing job satisfaction(P< 0.05),which could explain 52.3% of the total variation.Conclusion1.The level of professional identity of male nurses in qingdao is at the middle and the level of professional identity evaluation of male nurses is the lowest,indicating that male nurses have not yet formed correct professional values,and the professional identity of male nurses needs to be further improved.2.The quality of life of male nurses in Qingdao is low.lower than the norm.In view of the lowest scores in the field of environmental,hospital administrators should pay attention to it and gradually improve the nursing work environment,especially the primary and secondary hospitals,and continuously optimize human resource management.Create a positive and healthy working environment.3.The job satisfaction of male nurses in Qingdao is at the lower-middle level,indicating that there is a better still in the job satisfaction of male nurses.The two dimensions with the lowest scores are the dimension of work recognition and the work itself,both of which are related to the nature of the work.It is suggested that nursing managers should pay attention to the influence of job itself on job satisfaction and enhance professional cognition and sense of professional value when improving male nurses' job satisfaction.4.There is a positive correlation between male nurses' professional identity,quality of life and job satisfaction.Quality of life is the mediating effect of job identity and job satisfaction.The higher the professional identity of male nurses,the better the quality of life and the higher the job satisfaction.Therefore,it is suggested that nursing managers should start from the aspects of professional identity and quality of life in order to improve nursing quality and ensure the safety of patients when improving male nurses' job satisfaction.
