Objective: To investigate the clinical data of hospitalized children with ocular trauma in Shihezi area of Xinjiang by retrospective study, and to analyze the causes of eye injury and blindness analysis of children with ocular trauma, and propose prevention and treatment measures. Methods: The children with ocular trauma who were admitted to the ophthalmology department within 10 years from September 2007 to December 2017 in Shihezi area of Xinjiang were collected. All the cases were classified as primary or secondary diagnosis. The information of 163 patients with ocular trauma(under 14 years old)including age, gender, injury, eye, ocular trauma classification, complications, initial visual acuity, and final vision of the injured eye were recorded. The total score was calculated according to the factors affecting the visual acuity of the child. The OTS was obtained from the total score. The role of the OTS score in the prognosis evaluation of the initial visual acuity was analyzed to explore the related factors affecting the visual prognosis.Retrospective analysis was performed and compared before and after treatment. The visual acuity was compared with the prognostic visual acuity using the OTS score. Results: In the 163 children with ocular trauma,129 were male, accounting for 79.1%,and females were 34(20.9%).The male to female ratio was 3.79:1.The age is divided into 4 groups, among which ages 7 to 10 and 11 to 14 years are more common,64 and 63 cases, accounting for 39.3% and 38.7%,and 3 to 6years old,27 cases, accounting for 16.6%,age 0~ At least 2 years old,a total of 9 cases, accounting for 5.5%.All eyes,4 eyes,2.5%,159 single eyes, right eye(68): left eye(91)= 0.75:1.The injured ethnic group was more common in Han nationality,129 cases(79.1%),followed by 12 cases(7.4%)of Uygur,2 cases of Kazak and Hui.The most common year of injury was in 2007,24 cases(14.7%).The injury season was more common in July,August and September, accounting for 33.1%.The visit time was more than ?24h,and 117 cases accounted for 71.8%.The number of hospital stays was more common in 1 week,140 cases(85.9%).In mechanical ocular trauma, open eye trauma(47 cases): closed eye injury(116 cases)= 0.41:1.Among the 116 cases of open eye trauma, the number of penetrating injuries was the highest, accounting for 35 cases(74.5% of open eye trauma, accounting for 21.5% of all eye injuries),followed by 9 cases(5.5% of total),and intraocular foreign bodies.2 cases(1.2% of the total),1 case of penetrating injury(accounting for 0.6%);116 cases of closed eye trauma, the most blunt contusion, accounting for 114 cases(accounting for 98.3% of closed eye trauma, accounting for all ocular trauma)69.9%),followed by blunt contusion in 2 cases(1.2% of the total). There were many causes of injuries,of which 37 cases(22.7%)were the most common in the fall, followed by 32 cases(19.6%)and 29 pieces of metal sharps(17.8%).The most common complications were gestational hemostasis in 36 cases(22.1%)and traumatic cataracts in 17 cases(10.4%).The remaining complications ranged from high to low corneal damage(10 cases 6.1%),orbital laceration and glaucoma(6 cases,3.7%),iris incarceration(4 cases,2.5%),retinal detachment and endophthalmitis(1 case each,0.6%).The visual acuity of admission was grouped according to ?0.05,including the time of visit, the nature of trauma, complications, type of injury, and surgery.Complications were independent factors [OR=2.708,95% CI(1.285~5.705)];visual acuity after treatment Whether to improve the group, gender, age, time of visit, traumatic nature, complications, gender, age, visit time are independent factors, the OR time of the visit time is 2.895,95% CI(1.296 ~ 6.465).Results Conclusion:Ocular trauma is one of the main blinding eye diseases in children, but prevention can reduce the incidence of most trauma.
