Three Years Of Blindness Cause Analysis Of Hospitalized Patients

Object:To investigate the prevalence of blindness the leading cause blindness amount 1854 patients in shihezi County of Xin Jiang,China. According to the different causes of blindness treatment, to explore the strategy and direction of blindness prevention and treatment.To treat 1854 blind still remains in the literacy410 blind after cause analysis, to explore its causes.Methods : Cluster sampling was used to select September 2010 to August 2013 in our hospital ophthalmology patients 5473 cases, in which total of 1854 cases of blind patients, accounting for 33.88% of hospitalized patients. Acclrding to the WHO′s criterid of blindness. The BCVA enacted <0.05 or vision radius less than 10 degrees are for the blind, and the exclusion of less than 3 years old children don’t cope with visual inspection of the inclusion criteria for age 、sex、’occupation and cause of blindness blind patients were analyzed, To the blind to patient age and etiology were analyzed, the main cause of blindness and statistics of all ages, records of the blind patients after treatment eye sight; and calculating the blindness of the literacy rate, on the blindness through analysis of the causes of the risk treatment. The treatment is still not literacy of 410 eyes were analyzed and discussed.Results: In 1854 cases of blind patients, including 728 people right-eye blinding, 767 people left-eyes blinding, 359 people total blinding, adding up to 2213, blind patients aged 60 to 80 years are in the majority, Blind men 1068, 1145 female blind eyes, in patients with occupational retirement and retired personnel, the first three disease resulting in blinding eyes were : cataract, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. In 2213 blind eyes, the eyes treated are 2172, of which 1762 eyes(81.12%)are succeeded, 410eyes(18.88%) failed. In the failed cases, the first threediseases are: diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and retinal detachment. 410 is not only blind eyes, < 40 years old group(93 eyes) with > 40 years old group(317 eyes) causes are 13, where < 40 years old group of mean value of 7.1538, the standard deviation is8.18379, the mean standard error is 2.26977, averages 24.3846 a group of 40 or higher, the standard deviation is 30.75315, the mean standard error of 8.52939;For different age groups, the F value is 5.435,concomitant probability is 0.028, less than 0.05 significant level, refused to equal variance assumption, can think < 40 and not blind patients has significant difference of 40 or higher.Conclusion: In recent years, blinding eye disease etiology has changed.But cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma are still high incidence of blindness due, so the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and retinal detachment prevention of diseases such as the future blind blindness focus. Not blind main reason with age, its eye anatomical factors, merging other eye diseases and a variety of factors such as social and medical related.
