Objective Shoulder-hand syndrome is a common complication of stroke, which is the main reason for the recovery of upper limb function in patients with hemiplegia. It greatly hinders the patient's recovery process. If not treated in time,it will easily cause permanent disuse of limbs and bring great pain to patients,The purpose of this project was to discuss the therapeutic effect of manual lymphatic drainage combined with Kinesio taping in the treatment of shoulder-hand syndrome stage I after stroke, and to seek a simple, safe, reliable and effective rehabilitation therapy for patients with shoulder-hand syndrome stage I after stroke. Methods 40 patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke were randomly divided into experimental group(n=20)and control group(n=20).The control group received routine rehabilitation therapy, including posture correcting, pneumatic therapy, cold and warm therapy, active and passive exercise and neurodevelopmental therapy. The experimental group received manual lymphatic drainage combined with Kinesio taping therapy on the basis of routine rehabilitation therapy. Both groups were treated 4 weeks.Drainage method,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),shoulder joint function assessment scale,Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA),Barthel Index(BI)were used to assess edema, pain, shoulder joint function, upper limb motor function and activities of daily living(ADL)before and after treatment,The collected data were compared between groups and within groups. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the edema, pain, shoulder joint function, upper limb motor function and activities of daily living between 2 groups(P>0.05).4 weeks after treatment, the patient have improved in both groups(P<0.05),and the patients in experimental group made more improvement than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Manual lymphatic drainage combined with Kinesio taping can improve the edema and pain, make the shoulder joint function, upper limb motor function and activities of daily living better in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome.
