Social Support Research On Medical Rehabilitation Of Disabled Children

The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward new requirements for China's social security undertakings,“strengthening the construction of social security system”.In terms of disabled people,the report proposed to develop cause of disabled people and strengthen disability rehabilitation services.Every family hopes that children can grow up healthily and happily.However,due to diseases,accidents,heredity and so on,some children have defects in spirit,physiology and human body structure,they don't have the ability of self-care,learning and social adaptation like normal children.Medically speaking,disabled children can improve or restore their physical functions through rehabilitation to make up for their deficiencies.Social support is from the perspective of security to focus on the medical rehabilitation of disabled children.When disabled children get medical rehabilitation,they will face a series of difficulties.To some extent,social support can overcome the difficulties and promote disabled children to get more effective medical rehabilitation.Therefore,combining social support with medical rehabilitation of disabled children to research in order to raise the concern of society on disabled children.The research takes social support of medical rehabilitation of disabled children as the theme and mainly uses the qualitative research method.Through interviewing with the disabled children's parents and combining with the relevant data,based on the analysis of the status quo and differences of medical rehabilitation for disabled children and the difficulties faced by disabled children in medical rehabilitation,we research that the current situation of social support of medical rehabilitation of disabled children,and which is explained and discussed in-depth.At last,we think deeply about the existing problems of social support of medical rehabilitation and put forward relevant suggestion.In this way,we explore the significance of social support for the medical rehabilitation of disabled children.The paper is composed of six chapters.The first part is chapter 1 and chapter 2,which mainly involves the research background and significance,literature review,definition of related concepts and theoretical basis,laying a foundation for subsequent research.The second part is chapter 3,which is the status quo and plight of medical rehabilitation of disabled children.The third part is chapter 4 and chapter 5,analyzing the social support of the disabled children's medical rehabilitation;The fourth part is chapter 6,putting forward suggestions to improve the social support system for medical rehabilitation of disabled children.The basic content of each chapter is as follows:Chapter 1:introduction.This chapter mainly introduces the research background and significance.It sorts out the domestic and foreign literatures around the research on social support,social support of disabled children,and medical rehabilitation of disabled children.Then,thinking deeply about them and finding out the current situation and deficiencies of the research.Finally,This chapter introduces the research ideas and methods,illustrates innovation and shortcomings.Chapter 2:relevant theories and concept definition.Selecting energy enhancement theory and social capital theory as the theoretical basis.Disabled children need medical rehabilitation to improve their functional status,and social support for medical rehabilitation of disabled children needs social capital to provide them with different social support;Secondly,disabled children,medical rehabilitation and social support are the three important concepts,defining the scope of the three concepts used in the paper.Chapter 3:the status quo and plight of medical rehabilitation of disabled children.This chapter is mainly divided into two parts.The first part is the status quo and differences of medical rehabilitation of disabled children,the second part is the plight of medical rehabilitation of disabled children.Firstly,analyzing the status quo of disabled children received medical rehabilitation.We find that there is a certain gap between the proportion of disabled children receive medical rehabilitation and the target in 2020.From individual disabled children basic features,family factors and disability of the disabled children to analyze the difference,we find that disabled children to accept medical rehabilitation have differences in the nature of the age,household register,nationality,family economic status,family disabilities proportion.Secondly,through interviewing,we find that the medical rehabilitation of disabled children is confronted with difficulties in economy,care,rehabilitation resources and information.Therefore,it is necessary to increase social support to improve the acceptance rate of medical rehabilitation of disabled children and solve the plight of medical rehabilitation of disabled children.Chapter 4:the situation of social support for medical rehabilitation of disabled children.This chapter combines the grounded theory with the interview data of 24 disabled children's parent to encode and analyze,we get fourty-six initial concepts,twenty-seven generic categories and six categories.At last,three main categories have been refined,including:the type of social support,the content of social support and the results of social support.We find the following “story lines”: disabled children receive social support in medical rehabilitation,forming a social support system;Different social supports play different functions.Under the social support and its function,which has certain influence to the disability medical treatment rehabilitation continuity.Finally,we construct the disabled children's medical rehabilitation social support theory model.Chapter 5:interpretation and discussion of social support for medical rehabilitation of disabled children.Firstly,in the aspect of formal social support,government as the main body to provide social security,combing the policy and medical system of the current medical rehabilitation of disabled children.Secondly,in the aspect of informal social support,combining with the interview data,we elaborate the type of informal social support and the comparative advantage function of strong relationship support and weak relationship support.Finally,we discuss and think about the social support for the medical rehabilitation of disabled children.First,we find that the social support for the medical rehabilitation of disabled children is insufficient.Second,after thinking of formal social support,we find that formal social support for the medical rehabilitation of disabled children has been continuously strengthened.However,there are still some problems,which are mainly reflected in the following aspects: low level of medical rehabilitation policy,excessive restrictions of medical insurance system and insufficient community rehabilitation construction.Third,we find that strong relationship support plays a leading role in the medical rehabilitation of disabled children,while weak relationship plays auxiliary role.But,strong relationship support and weak relationship support is not coordinated.Chapter 6:Suggestions on improving the social support of disabled children of medical rehabilitation.Based on the thought and discussion on the social support of medical rehabilitation of disabled children,four suggestions are put forward: expanding social support bodies,strengthening the intervention of social workers;continuing to strengthen fomal social support,improving the social security system;coordinating support of strong and weak relationship,improving the coping ability of families with disabled children;in order to accelerate the construction of rehabilitation service system,we need the participation of various social support bodies.The possible innovations of the paper are as follows:Firstly,using qualitative analysis method to research the current social support situation of medical rehabilitation of disabled children through in-depth interviews and collecting related information of medical rehabilitation of disabled children.Not only grasping the social support of medical rehabilitation of disabled children from the overall,but also discussing the content of the different social support,to make up the blank of quantitative research at the past.Secondly,based on social capital theory,using the method of grounded theory,finding the current social support type of medical rehabilitation of disabled children,at the same time,using the relationship intensity to measure social support,finding that the comparative advantage function of social support of different relation,and its role.Thirdly,formal social support as an important part of social support of medical rehabilitation of disabled children,combing the policy and system of medical rehabilitation of disabled children,and combining with interviews.Then,thinking deeply of and discussing the policy and system of disabled children medical rehabilitation,not only focusing on medical rehabilitation of disabled children's welfare system from a macro perspective,but also combining with certain field research.In this way,enriching the research.
