Purpose: To explore the clinical effect of pricking collaterals and cupping combined with acupuncture on primary insomnia and to preliminarily explore its possible mechanism. Methods:According to the random number table grouping method,60 patients with primary insomnia meeting the standards were divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture plus cupping, while the control group was treated with acupuncture alone. The acupuncture prescription of treatment group: Baihui,Sishencong,Touwei,Taiyang,Sleeping Sleep,Shuigou,Neiguan,Shenmen Acupoint, combined with acupuncture and cupping at Dazhui point. The control group was treated with simple acupuncture, and acupuncture points and manipulations were the same as those in the treatment group.Needling once a day for 50 minutes each time;Pricking cupping is performed once a day,and cupping is reserved for 5 to 8 min each time.cupping is stopped for 2 days every 5 days of treatment.Every two weeks is a course of treatment. After two courses of treatment, the clinical effects of the two groups were observed and counted respectively. Results:After statistical analysis, the general conditions(sex, age, course of disease)of the two groups of data showed no significant difference. Before treatment, the PQSI scores of the two groups of patients were compared by T test, and the P values were all greater than 0.05,suggesting that there was no significant difference between the two groups of data before treatment, which was comparable. After treatment, the PQSI scores and total scores of the two groups were compared.According to the statistical calculation results of T test, the total PQSI scores of the two groups P=0.000<0.05,with statistical significance, suggesting that the curative effects of the two groups are significantly different. However, the scores of sleep quality, sleep efficiency, sleep time, sleep disorder and daytime dysfunction were all < 0.05,with statisticalsignificance, suggesting that the treatment group is better than the control group in improving the above aspects. However, the sleep time is P>0.05,which is not statistically significant, suggesting that there is no significant difference between the two therapies in improving sleep time. The overall curative effects of the two groups were compared. In the treatment group,5 cases were cured,13 cases were markedly effective,9cases were effective and 3 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate was90%.In the control group,1 case was cured,7 cases were markedly effective,16 cases were effective and 6 cases were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 80%.Rank sum test showed that P=0.003<0.05,which was statistically significant, indicating that the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusion:(1)It has obvious curative effect on primary insomnia whether it is acupuncture plus cupping therapy or acupuncture alone.(2)Acupuncture plus cupping is better than acupuncture alone in improving sleep quality, sleep efficiency, sleep time, sleep disorder and daytime dysfunction of patients with primary insomnia.(3)From the overall curative effect, acupuncture plus cupping is more effective than acupuncture alone.
