Objective:To observe the clinical effect of acupoint injection combined with acupuncture on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN),and to explore the therapy for the treatment of DPN more effectively.Method:60 consecutive DPN cases in the acupuncture and moxibustion ward were randomly divided into acupoint injection combined acupuncture group and conventional acupuncture group, with 30 cases in each group. Each group was given a low-salt and low-fat diet, kept exercising every day, took oral hypoglycemic drugs or applied insulin therapy, and kept blood glucose stable. The former was treated by acupoint injection combined with acupuncture. The acupuncture group received conventional acupuncture treatment. We observed the clinical symptoms of the two groups of patients before and after treatment, using Toronto clinical scoring system(TCSS),TCM symptoms score and nerve conduction velocity. The data were statistically analyzed.Result:?In terms of the total effective rate of treatment, the total effective rate of acupuncture point group was 86.67%,higher than that of acupuncture point group(76.67%),and the results were statistically significant(P<0.05).?In terms of Toronto system score, the scores of both groups after treatment were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05).?In terms of TCM syndrome points, the decrease of TCM syndrome points in both groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).?In terms of electrophysio logical examination, the improvement of sensory conduction velocity of median nerve, tibial nerve and common peroneal nerve in the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupoint injection combined with acupuncture and conventional acupuncture have a certain effect on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).2.The clinical efficacy of acupoint injection combined with acupuncture in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)is better than that of the conventional acupuncture group.3.Both treatment methods can reduce TCM syndrome score, reduce Toronto system score and improve nerve conduction function. The therapeutic effect of acupoint injection combined with acupuncture is better than that of the conventional acupuncture group.
