China has basically established a Chinese medicine medical service system covering urban and rural areas, and the ability of basic Chinese medicine services has been significantly enhanced. However, compared with the rapid growth of the number of institutions, the people's utilization of TCM services has always been low. This paper studies the needs of urban community residents for TCM services. To empirical research,it attempts to explain the behavioral processes of people using TCM services and find out the factors that affect people's use of Chinese medicine services.Conduct theoretical exploration and make recommendations to help improve the utilization of TCM services and promote the development of Chinese medicine.Based on TRA,this study introduces BMHSU as an analytical framework.Using literature research and empirical investigation, the authors put forward six influencing medical behaviors factors such as Predisposing characteristics,Enabling resources,Need,Health putcomes, and so on.The study established the decision-making model of TCM utilization behavior.Through questionnaires,864 valid questionnaires were obtained, and the data were analyzed and processed by SPSS and AMOS.Each hypothesis was confirmed by confirmatory analysis. The results of the study show that the use of Chinese medicine services: 1)Its direct influencing factors are the occurrence of its disease treatment needs and the prediction of the possible medical effects of using traditional Chinese medicine treatment, and the influence of both is equally important;2)The higher residents' preference for TCM services, the more likely they are to use TCM services when actual medical needs occur, which plays a major role in promoting the utilization of TCM services;3)The more convenient TCM service resources are available to residents, the more likely the utilization behavior of TCM service will occur when actual medical needs occur, which plays an important predictive role;4)Residents with high preference for traditional Chinese medicine and convenient service conditions may directly take the use of traditional Chinese medicine services without the need for disease treatment,so as to achieve the purpose of health care and prevention;5)Age,family income, the time to arrival TCM institutions and the number of acquaintances in TCM related industries have a regulating effect on individual needs, thus indirectly affecting the generation of TCM service utilization behavior;6)Sex,family population, education level, family medical expenditure and medical insurance expense have no significant regulating effect on individual needs and have no influence on medical behavior, which is caused by the particularity of traditional Chinese medicine service compared with general medical service.Based on the above conclusions, this study proposes corresponding management recommendations for the practical problems of TCM service development, summarizes the shortcomings in the research and points out the follow-up research direction.
