Study On The Construction Of Development Path For Health And Wellness Industry Based On A Typical Case

With the rapid development of economy and society in our country,the continuous improvement of people’s living standards and the growing awareness of health,health has become a common pursuit of people’s lives.Therefore,health and wellness industry has attracted great attention from the state and began to flourish in our country.In recent years,the state has issued a series of guidance documents and formed the top-level design of the health and wellness industry progressively,which has brought significant strategic opportunities for the development of this industry.However,the health and wellness industry,an emerging industry,is at the initial stage of development,there are many problems during the process of development in various regions.Most of the existing research on the health and wellness industry is to explore local practices,they can only provide limited experience for those who plan to develop health and wellness industry or have developed but get into trouble.So it’s of great practical significance to explore a feasible development path of health and wellness industry.This study selects Panzhihua City,a characteristic health and wellness city in Sichuan Province,as a typical case.Through in-depth study of the development of the city’s health and wellness industry and combined with the utilization and demand analysis based on the questionnaire survey,this paper aim to construct a clear and feasible development path of health and wellness industry under the guidance of Industrial Development Theory,Industry Cluster Theory,Industrial Convergence and Sustainable Development Theory to provide ideas and experience for the development of health and wellness industry in other regions.The development of the health and wellness industry in Panzhihua City initially determined the basic logic of development by intensive study.The basic logic of development of it is to firstly analyze the advantages of resource endowment,secondly carry out the overall planning of the regional health and wellness industry,thirdly improve the allocation of development of it and then implement specific measures.In order to make the path more scientific and reliable and provide information of development path of health and wellness industry for the demand side,this paper surveyed 95 health and wellness consumers and 283 potential health and wellness consumers to find out the utilization and demand of health and wellness services.Results of the survey demonstrates that potential health and wellness consumers have higher requirements for the natural environment(avg=4.80/5.00)and matching environment(avg=4.14/5.00)of the health and wellness region,and the factors affecting the demand of health and wellness care mainly include age(OR=1.91),monthly income(OR=3.87)and health awareness(OR=9.98),and the characteristics of health and wellness consumers are mainly older,highly educated,retired,having middle-tohigh income and in good health but suffering from chronic disease and so on.The study shows that,analyzing the demand of health and wellness and the advantages of resource endowment,carrying out overall planning of regional health and wellness industry,improving the allocation of development of health and wellness industry,implementing specific measures,providing feedback on industry development,“Collective Intelligence”,marketing and publicity are important links in the path of development.Besides,it is found that the industry development feedback,“Collective Intelligence” and marketing and publicity run through the whole development process of the health and wellness industry while designing the specific development path,so these are considered as the development of ancillary measures throughout the entire process.In summary,this paper initially constructed development path of health and wellness industry which includes four key steps and three ancillary measures(industry development feedback,“Collective Intelligence”,marketing and publicity).The first step is analyzing the regional development potential of the health and wellness industry,the second step is carrying out the overall planning,the third step is improving the allocation of development,and the forth step is implementing specific measures.
