Research 1: Data mining OBJECTIVE: this paper aims to explore the rule of prescriptions used to treat seborrheic alopecia by data mining, and to explore new combinations of drugs and prescriptions for this disease, thus to provide alternative options for clinical treatment of seborrheic alopecia.METHODS: A database of 76 prescriptions was established by using the software of traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance assistant platform. In the process of building the database, data mining methods such as association rules and entropy clustering analysis were used to study the frequency of drug use, drug combination, core drug pairs, association rules and new prescriptions for seborrheic alopecia.RESULTS:(1)The top three drugs in frequency were: Radix Polygoni Multiflori(37 times),Angelicae Sinensis(34 times)and Radix Rehmanniae(33 times). The first two drugs used in combination were Dry Lotus and Ligustrum Lucidum(23 times),Radix Polygoni Multiflori and Angelicae Sinensis(22 times).According to the statistics and analysis of the meridian attribution of four scents and five flavors of all prescription drugs,50% were cold drugs,35.71% were warm drugs, and the meridian attribution of drugs mainly involved liver, kidney, spleen and other meridians.According to the association rules and entropy cluster analysis of drugs,20 groups of core drug combinations and 9 newprescriptions were evolved.Five groups of them have certain clinical value, covering basically all aspects of deficiency: dampness, heat, wind, blood stasis and deficiency.Clinically,we can add or subtract with syndrome according to the results.CONCLUSION: Nourishing Yin and blood, clearing heat and dampness, cooling blood, dispelling wind and moistening dryness are commonly used therapies.Making Polygonum multiflorum and Angelica sinensis is the most commonly used medicine for clinicians, and in the same time adding or subtracting medicines according to different pathogenesis.Through entropy cluster analysis, nine new prescriptions were generated. After analysis and evaluation, five new prescriptions were picked out for clinical treatment.Study 2: Meta-analysis of Chinese medicine in the treatment of seborrheic alopecia OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in treating seborrheic alopecia by meta-analysis,and to provide medical evidence for clinical practice. Methods: Computerized retrieval, manual retrieval and supplementary retrieval were used to incorporate the eligible research.Literature screening was carried out independently by two evaluators.Data extraction tables were drawn.Risk assessment tools of Cochrane evaluation manual were used to evaluate the bias risk of the includedliterature.Revman 5.3 was used for meta-analysis.RESULTS: A total of 15 randomized controlled trials were included in the study, involving 1417 patients.Meta-analysis showed that OR = 3.87,95% CI = 2.93-5.10,P < 0.00001,indicating that the total effective rate of TCM treatment for seborrheic alopecia was higher than that of Western medicine(P < 0.00001).Conclusion: The study shows that the total effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine is better than that of Western medicine.
