The lifetime prevalence of mental disorders is high.Some patients with mental disorders are unable to return to their families and society after being treated in various medical institutions and their conditions are controlled.They are forced to stay in hospital for a long time.People with long-term hospitalization of mental disorders are far away from the normal social support system,and the social support network is gradually weakened or even disappeared,affecting the rehabilitation process.Good social support can protect patients with long-term hospitalized mental disorders,maintain their good emotional experience,and thus relieve the stress and trouble caused by the disease,maintain balance between body and mind,and help the rehabilitation of mentally ill patients.Mental health social worker as a professional force in mental health care services should actively carry out research or take measures to help people with mental disorders who are hospitalized for a long time to recover better.Under this circumstance,social work in this study involved the construction of in-hospital social support for long-term inpatients with mental disorders,using participatory action research methods,under the guidance of Gerald Susman’s five-stage action research model,social workers and mental disorders patients participated in the whole research process of constructing in-hospital social support for long-term inpatients,and guided the patients with mental disorders to understand the status of in-hospital social support for long-term inpatients in practice.The analysis found that there was insufficient social support for patients with long-term hospitalized mental disorders,and the in-hospital social support network in the institution did not perfect,generally expressed in the medical support of the emotional support and companion support is not enough to support the rehabilitation of patients,imperfect instrumental support,lack of information support;emotional support,instrumentality in the social support of patients Support,companionship support is weak,and information support is missing.On the basis of confirming the status of social support for long-term inpatients with mental disorders,social workers organize long-term inpatients to invest in action research in the role of research participants,and to promote long-term inpatients with mental disorders as researchers in their own social support in action research.And action practitioners to help them develop plans to build social support,select and identify action strategies for building medical social support and social support for patients,conduct construction actions,and confirm post-construction social support.In the process of action research,social workers participate in the construction of long-term hospitalized mentally ill patients as researchers,and through field observations and interviews,they find that the working methods of group social work are related to the work skills of individual social work.The combination and interspersed in various stages of intervention can stimulate the enthusiasm and initiative of long-term inpatients with mental disorders,improve the efficiency of action research,and guide the practice of constructing in-hospital social support for long-term hospitalized mental disorders within a certain scope.
