Objective:1.To select appropriate items from the Oral Health Impact Profile(OHIP-49)to development the Oral health Impact profile-Oral lichen planus(OHIP-OLP)of Chinese version by using the comprehensive method, and to evaluate its reliability and validity.2.To compare the oral health quality of patients between erosive and non-erosive groups of oral lichen planus(OLP)by using Oral health impact profile-Oral lichen planus(OHIP-OLP)and Visual analog scale(VAS).Methods:1.110 patients were interviewed who were diagnosed as oral lichen planus.Information on subjects' demographic background and OHIP-49 score of Chinese version were collected.According to the experts' opinion and patients interview method, the elementary rating scale item pool of OHIP-OLP was formed. After conducting the exploratory factor analysis,we developmented the final Oral health Impact profile-Oral lichen planus(OHIP-OLP)on oral lichen planus patients, and evaluated its reliability and validity.2.Patients with oral lichen planus(30 cases of erosive and non-erosive type respectively)were interviewed with OHIP-OLP.The visual analog scale(VAS)was used to score the pain degree of patients. The difference of OHIP-OLP and VAS scores between the two group, and the correlation between the two above-mentioned scales were investigated by statistical analysis which was performed via SPSS24.0.Results:1.The OHIP-OLP scale was established through the experts' opinion, patients interview method and factor analysis, which included 22 items of four fields and had good reliability and validity.2.The total score of OHIP-OLP(18.13±9.84)and the VAS score(4.27±2.66)of erosion group were higher than the total score of OHIP-OLP(10.03±5.65)and the VAS score(2.33±2.15)of non-erosive group. In the four fields of OHIP-OLP,the scores of the erosion group in physical pain and physical disability and psychological discomfort and mental disability were higher than those in non-erosive group. The total score of OHIP-OLP has a significant correlation with VAS score between two groups. The higher the VAS score, the higher the total score of OHIP-OLP.Conclusion:1.The OHIP-OLP profile, which was established through item screening in this study, includes 22 items of four fields(functional limitations, physical pain and physical disability, psychological discomfort and mental disability, social disability),total score 0-88 points,The higher the score, the worse the quality of life.2.The OHIP-OLP profile has good reliability and validity, which could be used to assess the oral health quality of patients with oral lichen planus.3.Patients with erosive oral lichen planus are supposed to suffer lower oral health quality and greater physiological pain and mental disorder, which would affect the social life of patients seriously. It was indispensable for patients to be treated comprehensively by clinicians.
