Objective:To explore the Infrared temperature characteristics of torso which as the objective basis for the clinical assessment of chronic fatigue.And enriching the health assessment methods with TCM characteristic by using infrared imaging technology.Methods:The fatigue scales were used to evaluate the fatigue of subjects and subjects belonged to two groups,chronic fatigue groups and non fatigue group.All subjects accepted the infrared thermal tomography(THERMAL TEXTURE MAPS,TTM)test,and six images with front,back and side positions were collected,and then derived the temperature data.Then we observed the different image characteristics of infrared thermal imaging of two groups.The statistical methods was used to find the different temperature of different zones on torso between two groups.And statistical methods was used to explore the correlation between fatigue scale scores and temperature of fatigue people.Results:The study included 40 young people with chronic fatigue and 20 young people without fatigue.There was no significant difference in gender and age distribution between the two groups(P>0.05).The total fatigue score,physical fatigue score and mental fatigue score of FS-14 were significantly different(P<0.05).The feeling about fatigue of fatigue people themselves were moderate or server.Infrared characteristics about large areas:(1)Temperature distribution in front of torso of non fatigue people was uniform,while the upper-jiao of fatigue people was higher than middle-jiao and lower-jiao;In fatigue patients,the upper-jiao heat deviated from 0.32?(P<0.05)and the lower-jiao cool deviated from 0.28?(P<0.05).(2)Non fatigue people has a continuous and regular track of high temperature along the middle of the back,while this high temperature track of fatigue people was broken or disappeared.(3)In fatigue patients,the temperature of the abdomen was cooler and the temperature of the upper chest was warmer;The abdomen cool deviated from 0.55?(P<0.05)and the upper chest heat deviated from 0.42 ?(P<0.05).(4)The temperature of flank of torso was warmer;The mental fatigue score of FS-14 was positively correlated with heat deviation trend of flank of torso(P<0.05).Infrared characteristics about small areas:(1)The Shenque cool deviated from 0.55?(P<0.05),Qihai cool deviated from 0.58oC(P<0.05).(2)The total fatigue score of FS-14 was negatively correlated with heat deviation trend of Dazhui as well as Feishu and Xinshu(P<0.05).(3)The physical fatigue score of FS-14 was negatively correlated with heat deviation trend of Feishu and left Xinshu(P<0.05).(4)The mental fatigue score of FS-14 was negatively correlated with heat deviation trend of Feishu and Xinshu(P<0.05).Conclusions:Infrared thermal imaging technology can be applied to the clinical work of chronic fatigue,which is a relatively objective evaluation method.Infrared thermography of young chronic fatigue patients displayed different changes in the distribution of Shanjiao,the high temperature track along Governor Channel,and the infrared temperature in upper-jiao,lower-jiao,abdomen,upper chest,Shenque,Qihai.In addition,the trend of temperature change in Dazhui,Feishu,Xinshu and flank of torso are correlated with the severity of fatigue.These differences have the value of the clinical evaluation about chronic fatigue as well as the selection of TCM external treatment methods for fatigue.
