Clinical Observation Of The Treatment For Melasma By Medicated Threads Moxibustion Of Zhuang Nationality

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy on female melasma treated by medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality and provide a certain reference of clinical practise of the treatment of melasma by medicated threads moxibustion.MethodsIn the study,60 sample patients with melasma who met the criteria were gathered by the Department of Acupuncture and Dermatology Clinic of the First Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2018 to February 2019.According to the principle of random grouping,all patients were divided into medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality group and hydroquinone cream group,each group has 30 cases.In the course of treatment,1 case in the medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality group couldn' t complete the whole treatment and fall off due to scab exfoliation after moxibustion which had a time of up to 1 month.Eventually,29 cases were completed in the medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality group and 30 cases in the hydroquinone cream group,a total of 59 cases.The medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality was treated 2 times a week,4 weeks for a course and a total of 8 weeks for two courses of treatment.The hydroquinone cream group was treated with hydroquinone cream(Trade name:QianBai)in the morning and evening after facial cleaning,and the same 4 weeks was a course and for 2 courses.The color and area scores of the facial lesions were observed before treatment,after 4,8 weeks of treatment.Statistical methods and SPSS software were used to analyze the data to evaluate whether there was a statistical difference between the two groups before and after treatment.During the treatment period,all patients were followed up to record whether there was any adverse reaction,and the security of the treatment of melasma by medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality was evaluated.Results(1)Before treatment,the age,course of disease and the score of the color and area of facial lesion were compared between the two groups.There was no statistic difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The two groups were comparable.(2)Skin lesion score after 4 weeks of treatment:The total score of lesion area and color in the medicated threads moxibustion group were statistically significant(P<0.01),indicating that the area and color of the facial lesions were significantly improved after 4 weeks of treatment.There was no significant difference in the hydroquinone cream group(P>0.05),indicating that the lesion' s area and color of the hydroquinone cream group were not improved.Comparing the two groups,the total score of the lesion' s area and color of the patients with melasma were statistically significant(P<0.01),indicating that the improvement of the lesion area and color of the melasma treated with medicated threads moxibustion group were significantly better after 1 course of treatment.(3)Skin lesion score after 8 weeks of treatment:There were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05),and the lesion scores of the two groups were significantly decreased after 8 weeks of treatment.Comparing the two groups,the lesion area and color of the patients with melasma in the medicated threads moxibustion group were better than those in the hydroquinone cream group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The difference value of skin lesion area and color score between the two groups before treatment and after 8 weeks of treatment was not statistically significant(P>0.05),indicating that the lesion area and color of the two groups before treatment and after 8 weeks of treatment weren' t difference in improvement.The advantage of medicated threads moxibustion group in treating melasma is mainly reflected in the short-term efficacy.(4)The contrast of clinic efficacy:After 8 weeks,as ordered grade variables,the obviously improvement rate of medicated threads moxibustion group was 75.86%,and the rate of hydroquinone cream group was 43.33%.After chi-square test(p<0.05),the difference was statistically significant.The total score of lesion area and color of the medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality group were better than those of the hydroquinone cream group.Conclusions(1)Both of the two groups can improve the area and color of facial lesions in patients with melasma.The effect of medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality group is better.(2)After 4 weeks of treatment,the area and color of facial lesions of the medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality group could be significantly improved,indicating that the short-term efficacy of medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang nationality group was better.(3)Medicated threads moxibustion of Zhuang Nationality in the treatment of melasma is low incidence of adverse action,safety,worthy spreading therapeutic schedule.
