Anatomy And Clinical Application Of Epicanthus With The Incision Of The Eyelid Margin

BackgroundThe traditional epicanthoplasty is often accompanied by scar formation and poor shape of inner canthus[1-3].In order to explore the mechanic characteristics of epicanthus,expose epicanthus anatomy,reduce epicanthoplasty damage,this paperintroduces a eyelid margin incision epicanthoplasty technique.The new application of epicanthus correction technlque provides a more safe,practical and effective surgical method,and this paper analyzese the clinical effects and feasibility of the new epicanthoplasty.Materials and methods4 fresh cadaver heads w,th epicanthus are anticorrosion fixed,poured into vascular[4],repeatedly pull each level.Then we observed lacrimal caruncle exposure degree and the degree of improvement of epicanthus.Tissue was fixed with 10%formaldehyde,embedded with paraffin,sliced,HE stained and observed under the microscope.From February 2016 to February 2019,epicanthus correction was performed in 150 cases of epicanthus beauty seekers through an incision at the eyelid margin.Beauty seekers are 20 to 45 years old,with an average age of 25.Among them,150 cases were bilateral epicanthus,and 150 cases were combined with blepharoplasty.Epicanthic correction was performed at the epicanthic area through an incision at the eyelid margin,and a small amount of subcutaneous tissue was removed.The patients were followed up for 1-12 months.ResultsAnatomy study showed that the blood vessels in the inner canthus area were dense and the tissue structure was complex.The blood supply of eyelid tissue was good after operation in 150 pat.ents.All patients' postoperative results were good,eyelid shape was natural,the eye shape more beautiful.No obvious discomfort,friction,pain,tears,photophobia and other symptoms were found in the eyes of all the patients.The surgical effect was good,and there were no obvious scars,adhesion and wrinkles affecting the appearance.ConclusionsEpicanthoplasty through the incision at the edge of the eyelid has the advantages of natural appearance,wide indications,less postoperative complications and high patient satisfaction,and it is an effective,simple and easy clinical method to grasp for the correction of epicanthus.
