Objective:Making a set of RPG education games,evaluating the effect of RPG in the teaching of the nurse-patient communication,and analyzing its feasibility and effectiveness.Methodology:This study uses literature research,questionnaire survey,and experimental research.The research overview is concluded through literature review;The students' need is interpreted by questionnaire survey;Instructional design and game production is guided by action research.A total of 228 students from class 5 to 8 of nursing major,who entered Lianyungang Higher Vocational Technical school of traditional Chinese medicine in 2015,were selected as the research subjects.They were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,among which class 7 and 8 belong to the control group,with a total of 113 people.Class 5 and 6 belong to the experimental group,with a total of 115 people.RPG education game teaching was added as a supplementary teaching method of the traditional teaching method.Before teaching,the researchers conducted a survey among the two groups of nursing students using a self-made personal status questionnaire.After the teaching,a theory test of this chapter was completed by two groups of students on school generic network platform.And by using the nursing students' communication ability assessment form and the clinical communication skills assessment form,a teacher's evaluation and students' self-evaluation of their communication ability were provided.Another autonomous learning ability evaluation questionnaire is used for self-assessment of the autonomous learning ability;The experimental group completed the teaching effect questionnaire and evaluated the teaching effect.Results:1.Student demand survey:A total of 228 vocational nursing students participated in this research,all of them were female students.There was no significant difference between the two groups in their personal background and academic performance in the last semester,thus the data was valid.82.4%of students play games regularly.85.5%of students play mobile games.Sixty-one(26.8%)were satisfied with the current teaching method,143(62.7%)felt acceptable,and 24(10.5%)were dissatisfied.80.7%of students would like to use games in their study;78.1 percent of the students chose role-play games with strong sense of immersion.79.8 percent of the students thought games were good for teaching.76.3 percent of students wanted to add some romance to the role-playing game.In addition,most students believe that they cannot effectively communicate with patients.2.Teaching content of games:the teaching content of RPG games is determined according to the application book for practicing qualification examination,language instruction for nursing and patient conflict,and clinical nursing and health instruction,including occupational attitude,case introduction,disease review,preoperative education,communication during hospitalization,and communication of health education to patients discharged from hospital.3.Game design and production:it is clear that the purpose of the game is to improve the communication ability of nurses to communicate with patients.The type of the game is RPG role-play game.The scene and plot are designed according to the teaching content,and the relevant materials are collected to complete the game.4.AppIication and results of the game:the comparison of the practical communication ability of the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).RPG can improve the communication ability of the nursing students.The independent learning performance of the experimental group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05),which was statistically significant.The theoretical test results of the experimental group were better than those of the control group,which was statistically significant.In addition,the experimental group generally believed that game teaching was superior to traditional teaching in the survey of teaching effect.Conclusion:1.There is a willingness and demand of students to use RPG education to assist learning;2.The content of the RPG games designed in this research caters to students'psychology and learning characteristics.The game is easy to learn and easy to use.3.The RPG education game is helpful to improve the students' ability of expression and communication,autonomous learning,teaching satisfaction and theoretical test performance.
