Purpose:The aim of this study was to understand the knowledge, attitude, behavior and influencing factors of AIDS occupational exposure among medical college students and analyze the effect of education. Methods:First,Conduct on-site investigations of six medical students in clinical, nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, stomatology and imaging of a medical school.Second, questionnaires issued in secret and closed form,on-site distribution and recovery questionnaire. After the survey, some students were selected to carry out health education, and AIDS health education manuals were issued to compare the educational effects between the education group and the non-education group.Third, the data was statistically analyzed using the excel table and SPSS 19.0.Results:First,A total of 630 students in 6 majors were investigated.Comparing the knowledge of AIDS prevention and treatment among students of different majors, the results showed that the score of examination major was(85.00±7.11),the score of clinical specialty was(80.00 ±8.73),the score of nursing and stomatology was(80.00±8,73).The three major scores of pharmacy were(75.00 ±9.88),(70.00 ±9.20),(65.00 ±12.33).There were significant differences between clinical specialty and nursing specialty, pharmacy major and stomatology specialty in cognition of AIDS prevention and treatment knowledge(p<0.05).There were a significant differences between nursing specialty and laboratory specialty and imaging specialty(p<0.05),and there were statistical significances between pharmacy specialty and laboratory specialty(p<0.05),and there were a significant differences between nursing major and laboratory specialty(p<0.05).There were a significant differences between the major of laboratory science and the major of stomatology(p<0.05).Books and television were the main ways for medical students to acquire AIDS knowledge. The proportion of medical students participating in AIDS prevention training in the past year was only 13.65%.Second,there was a linear relationship between the mastery and age of occupational exposure knowledge of AIDS prevention among medical students, the level of education and the number of times they receive education, and whether they received preventive education or not.The older the age and the higher the level of education, the higher the knowledge.Among them, the times of receiving preventive education had the greatest influence on the mastery of preventive knowledge of medical students. The other influencing factors were whether or not to receive preventive education, educational level and age according to the order from high to low.Third,Health education intervention was carried out for 200 students. Before the intervention,49.8%of the medical students treated AIDS patients like other patients. After the intervention, the proportion increased to 67.3%,showing a significant difference before and after the intervention(p<0.05).Before intervention,The number of students who hope that AIDS patients will go to the hospital is similar to the number of students who want other patients to go to the hospital, which is 18.3%.After the intervention, the number of students who hoped that AIDS patients went to the hospital rose to 32.4%.The difference was statistically significant before and after the intervention(P<0.05).The difference between before and after intervention was statistically significant(p<0.05).In addition, before and after the intervention, the number of medical students to shake hands with AIDS,the number of meals also showed statistically significant differences(p<0.05).Fourth,After the intervention of health education, the proportion of medical students taking protective measures in drawing blood and contact with the patient's body fluid, blood diagnosis and treatment had been significantly increased. After the intervention, more medical students dared to touch the AIDS patients, which was statistically different from the pre-intervention(p<0.05).In addition, after the intervention, medical students paid more attention to wearing isolation clothes in the diagnosis and treatment. There was also significant difference between the two groups before and after intervention(p<0.05).Conclusions:First,the knowledge of occupational exposure to AIDS,college medical students'knowledge of AIDS prevention and treatment was generally low,and the depth of mastery was uneven. The main channel for medical students to acquire knowledge of occupational exposure to AIDS was not school education.Second, the cognitive level of AIDS occupational exposure knowledge of medical students is affected by age, education level, number of times of education, and whether to receive preventive education. The number of times of preventive education had the greatest impact on students'knowledge of prevention.Third, after health education intervention, the attitude of medical students to AIDS patients and the protective measures of occupational exposure to AIDS were effective. It was indicated that the medical students should also carry on the special education of AIDS occupational exposure protection knowledge.
