Objective To investigate the current situation of health care needs of the elderly and to explore and analyze the influencing factors of their demand motivation,so as to provide theoretical reference for further improving health care services and resource allocation for the elderly. Methods A convenient sampling method was used to investigate the health care needs of 1038 elderly people by using the questionnaire designed by the Western Nursing Union Health Care Need Research Group.Understand the general information of the elderly, economic health insurance, health status,self-care ability, nursing needs and willingness to choose pension models. It is divided into nine dimensions: health monitoring needs, spiritual and emotional support needs,self-development and contribution needs, living environment needs, protection and safety needs, knowledge needs, activity needs, communication needs and specialized nursing needs. To analyze the health care needs of the elderly and its influencing factors. Results Nursing needs: the top five demand dimensions were health monitoring(1.73±0.50),protection and safety(1.49±0.59),living environment(1.47±0.69),mental and emotional support(1.32±0.60),knowledge(1.29±0.57).Comparing the demand score of health care services for the elderly withdifferent characteristics,it was found that. The average score of demand in the dimension of health monitoring, protection and safety of the urban elderly was higher than that of the rural elderly(P < 0.05),and the average score of the demand of the rural elderly in the dimension of mental and psychological support, knowledge and activity was higher than that of the urban elderly. The average score of self-development and contribution in the young group was higher than that in the middle age group and the elderly group(P < 0.05),and the average score of self-development and contribution in the young group was higher than that in the middle-aged group and the elderly group(P<0.05).The elderly in the elderly group in the spiritual and psychological support dimension, knowledge dimension, active dimension, communication dimension, specialized nursing. The average score of demand in the rational dimension was higher than that in the young group and the middle age group(P < 0.05),and the average score in the dimension of the spiritual and psychological support of the elderly living alone was higher than that of the non-elderly living alone(P < 0.05).The elderly with chronic diseases in the health monitoring dimension, average score of activity dimension and communication dimension were higher than those of the elderly without chronic diseases(P < 0.05).Logistic multivariate regression showed that age, lack of exercise, score of self-care ability, times of hospitalization and payment method of medical expenses were the influencing factors of health care needs of the elderly(P < 0.05).That is,the higher the age,the higher the demand for health care; The demand for health care of the elderly who lacked exercise was 1.855 times higher than that of the elderly who did not lack exercise, and the higher the score of self-care ability, the lower the demand for health care;and the elderly who were hospitalized more times. The demandfor health care is higher;the elderly who are insured by urban workers have a higher demand for health care. Conclusion Combined with the actual needs of the elderly and the results of the survey,it is considered that the health care needs of the elderly are generally high, and the content is diversified. There are differences in the needs of different types of older persons among various services and projects. There is a high demand for health monitoring, living environment, protection and safety, spiritual and psychological support, and knowledge among the elderly. Therefore,in order to meet the diversified needs of the elderly,it is necessary to fully consider their age, lack of exercise,self-care ability, the number of hospitalizations, the type of medical insurance and other main influencing factors. With the rapid development of the aging process and the growing demand for health care services, all sectors of society need to make joint efforts to deal with the problems and challenges brought by the aging population.
