objectve:To understand the training status and professional level of nursing care workers at elderly-care institutions in Yan'an City,analyze the influencing factors of the mastery of nursing care assistants' professional knowledge,to provide scientific basis and theoretical guidance for the development and training of nursing care assistants teams at elderly-care institutions in Yan'an.Methods: A cluster sampling method was adapted to investigate 190 elderly nursing staff at 38 elderly institutions in Yan'an City,applying a questionnaire on the training status of nursing staff at elderly institutions in Yan'an City.A total of 190 questionnaires were distributed,which 185 questionnaires are valid questionnaires.Statistical methods include statistical description,and analysis of variance.Results:?General data: among 163 women(88.11%),100 women which are aged40-49(54.05%),159 women(85.95%)within the city which 110 cases(59.46%)are with junior high school degree or below,27 cases(14.59%)with experience of medical nursing-related school,25cases(13.51%)had background of medical-related occupations previously,64 cases(34.59%)are with more than 3 years of working experience,125 cases express the satisfaction(67.57%)of the average.? Training status: 77 cases(41.62%)of senior care assistants are with certificates in ederly-care institutions,and 41cases(22.16%)are junior vocational-skilled level.114 cases(61.62%)had less than one month of pre-job training,20 cases(10.81%)had training for 1-2 months,67 cases(36.22%)had on-the-job training once a month,and 68 cases has taken training once a year or longer(36.76%),154 cases(83.24%)of the trainees who have received training in daily life care for the elderly,only 10 cases(5.41%)showed reluctance to participate training.?The score of professional knowledge of elderly-care assistants are 18.44 ±4.14 points,the highest score of elderly daily life care knowledge is 4.83 ± 1.08 points,and the lowest score of elderly basic-care related knowledge is 1.61 ± 1.48 points.?The results for comparison of the professional knowledge scores of elderly-careassistants with different characteristics shows the age,vocational skill level,education level,whether there are medical nursing-related school experience,work experience,total working years,employment methods,personal income,the difference of job satisfaction and other aspects are statistically significant(P<0.05).?The comparison results of the professional knowledge scores of the elderly nursing staff with different training factors show that the differences in pre job training time,training frequency on-the-job,and training willingness are statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: ? The team structure of elderly care assistants at elderly-care institutions in Yan'an City is unreasonable,with low rate of certified staff,training is not standardized and limited professional knowledge.?There are significant differences for professional knowledge of elderly-nursing assistants at the elderly-care institutions in Yan'an City is at the level of vocational skills,previous working experience,education level,total working years,background of being at professional medical nursing school,employment methods,personal income,job satisfaction,training time,frequency of on-the-job training,and willingness to train.
