Objective:Different heat sources(mox moxibustion and TDP)therapies were used respectively to treat patients with lumbar disc herniation as auxiliary therapy combined with standard acupuncture therapy, and the effects were compared to provide a reference for clinical selection. Methods:From October 2017 to December 2018,64 patients with lumbar disc herniation were diagnosed by LDH CT or MRI in the outpatient clinic of the Third Hospital of Shanxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.64 patients were randomly divided into two groups: 32 in the observation group, the others in the control group.Moxibustion was used in therapy group patients, while TDP was applied to the control group.Operation of the observation group: Keeping a prone position, the patient exposed the lumbosacral ridge. Two 10 cm moxa sticks were placed on the iron screen of the Ai box,and the two ends were ignited. After the moxa stick was fully burned, the lid was covered, and the box was placed while acupuncture was placed. The acupuncture site of the lumbosacral region(about from the second lumbar spinous process to the rectangular region of the tibia)was placed about 3 cm from the skin and the body surface temperature was treated at about 43°C for 30 minutes.Operation of the control group: The pre-warmed TDP was placed 30 cm above the lumbar acupuncture site(about from the second lumbar spinous process to the rectangular region of the tibia),and the body surface temperature was treated at about 43 ° C for 30 minutes. The course of treatment in the two groups of cases was 3 courses. Before and after the treatment, the M-JOA score table and the VAS score table were analyzed and statistically analyzed to judge the diagnosis and treatment results. All data are statistically analyzed using SPSS 21.0 statistical software. Results:The experiment included 64 cases of lumbar disc herniation,32 cases in each of the two groups,of which the observation group and the control group lost 2 people respectively.1.Comparison of baseline data: Before treatment the difference between the two groups was not significant in the age, gender, and disease course(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups were comparable.2.Comparison of M-JOA scores: the scores after treatment were reduced both in two groups compared before, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The score of observation group was better than the other after treatment.(P<0.05).3.VAS scores' comparison: The VAS scores of the two groups were reduced than those before treatment(P<0.05).The score of observation group was better than the other after treatment.(P<0.05).4.Comprehensive curative effect's comparison of: The whole effective rate of the observation group was 93.3%,while the total effective rate of the control group was 86.7%.Based on the rank sum test, the effectiveness of observation group was better than the control group,(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Different heat source assisted acupuncture treatment of lumbar disc herniation has certain differences.2.Moxibustion assisted acupuncture has a prominent effect on the overall regulation of lumbar disc herniation, especially in relieving pain in patients. This may be related to the volatile drugs in the smoking process of moxibustion.
