Objective:This study explored the correlation between osteocalcin and thyroid function, bone mineral density, and lipid metabolism in hyperthyroidism patients.Explore the role of osteocalcin in bone metabolism, lipid metabolism, and regulation of thyroid function. Methods:Data of thyroid hormone function and related antibodies, parathyroid hormone,25-OH-D,OC,and central BMD,waist circumference(WC),body mass index(BMI),lipid as Total cholesterol(TC),et al were collected.Spearman rank correlation analysis and logistic regression analysis were analyzed for all data. Results: Serum osteocalcin levels were positively correlated with TT3,FT3,TT4,FT4,TRAb,and TGAb(r were 0.504,0.515,0.396,0.388,0.293,0.178,respectively,P<0.01);OC was negative correlation with TSH(r=-0.302,P<0.01);OC was negative related with BMD of Ward triangle and total hip bone density(r were-0.193,-0.248,respectively(P<0.05).OC was negative related with WC,BMI,LDL-C and Triglyceride(TG),(r were-0.155?-0.186?-0.223?-0.222,respectively(P<0.05);Logistic regression analysis showed FT3?ALP?TC and TG were the main influencing factors of serum osteocalcin(P<0.05);Vitamin D deficiency was 92.34% in hyperthyroid patients. Conclusion: Secreted by osteoblasts in high conversion,OC maybe mediate lipid metabolism, and reduce central BMD.It is very important to add vitamin D to keep skeletal and muscular health for hyperthyroid patients indeed.
