| Objective This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and safety of using Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction to treat the primary hypertensimethod on syndrome of wind-phlegm invading upward so that a more effective and safer treatment on the hypertension could be found to guide clinical therapy.Method 64 primary hypertension patients from the outpatient departments of Jiangyin Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from Oct 2017 to Oct 2018 were selected,which were divided into control group and treatment group,with 32 cases in each group,respectively.Irbesartan Tablets were orally given to the control group,while Irbesarlan Tablets plus Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction were given to the treatment group.After 8 weeks,the changes of cumulative syndrome score,improvements in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)symptoms and blood pressure level,as well as the blood pressure variability were compared and statistically analyzed.Results(1)There was no statistical difference between the two groups in the aspects of sex,age,course of disease,the severity of disease,etc.(P>0.05).(2)The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);the TCM cumulative syndrome score reduced after treatment(P<0.05);both the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure declined after treatment(P<0.05);the treatment group showed less the blood pressure variability than the control group(P<0.05).During the course of treatment,no side effects were found in the patients of the two groups and the results of all routine examinations were normal.Conclusion the effectiveness of Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction in the treatment of primary hypertension syndrome of wind-phlegm invading upward was confirmed.it can relieve clinical symptoms better,reduce blood pressure levels and the blood pressure variability.Moreover,no side effects were found in a short treatment period,suggesting Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction is a satisfying and safe pharmaceutical. |
