Objective: To investigate the relationship between mild cognitive impairment(MCI)and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)in patients with T2 DM.Methods: We selected 120 patients with T2 DM admitted to the Department of Endocrinology,Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from August 2017 to August 2018.There were 59 cases in non-MCI group and 61 cases in MCI group. All patients were assessed by Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale(MoCA)(Beijing edition)and Fatal serum C-peptide.Fasting blood glucose(FPG),fasting serum insulin(FINs),homeostasis model were used to assess insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c)and serum BDNF levels were measured. The results were analyzed statistically. Results: BDNF [(2.87(2.11,3.33))ng/ml] in MCI group was lower than that in non-MCI group(5.66(4.32,6.99)ng/ml),The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The correlation analysis showed that Fins,Moca score,Fatal serum C-peptide were positively correlated with BDNF(r < 0,P < 0.01),while FPG,HOMA-IR and HbA1 c were negatively correlated with BDNF(r>0,P<0.001).Multivariate regression analysis showed that BDNF(beta=0.427,P<0.05)was a risk factor for MoCA score. Conclusion: There is a correlation between the reduction of hippocampal volume and the combination of T2 DM and MCI.BDNF is a risk factor for the combination of T2 DM and MCI.In patients with type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, cognitive dysfunction, and hippocampus volume atrophy were positively correlated with the lack of BDNF,while well-controlled fasting blood sugar and glycated hemoglobin were protective factors.
