Objective: To study the prevalence of chronic periodontitis under different body mass index,so as to analyze the correlation between obesity and chronic periodontitis. Methods: The community periodontal index and serum biochemical test results were collected from the people visiting the physical examination center of Xinjiang Medical University and the newly diagnosed patients in the periodontal mucosa department of the Affiliated Stomatology Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University. And their height, weight, waist circumference and hip circumference were measured at the same time. The patients were divided into periodontal health group and periodontitis group according to their periodontal health. The relationship between periodontal health status and different body mass index was analyzed. Results: The prevalence rates of overweight, obesity and abdominal obesity in this survey were 30.3%,19.3% and 60.6%,the prevalence rate was significantly higher than the national level. In univariate analysis, the incidence of gender, age,GLB,GLU,CREA,overweight, obesity and abdominal obesity was significantly different among different periodontal health groups, and the prevalence of dyslipidemia was not significantly different among different periodontal health groups. In multivariate Logsitic regression, gender, age,GLB,GLU,CREA,overweight and obesity had statistical differences, and overweight and abdominal obesity are not risk factors for chronic periodontitis. Conclusion: 1.The prevalence of overweight, obesity and abdominal obesity is different between chronic periodontitis group and normal periodontal group.2.The risk factors of chronic periodontitis were gender, age, obesity,GLB,GLU,CREA.Overweight and abdominal obesity were not risk factors of chronic periodontitis.Abdominal obesity and overweight were not risk factors of chronic periodontitis.3.In the research on the correlation of abdominal obesity and chronic periodontitis may need to be more directly indicator of abdominal adipose accumulation.
