Objective: The article aims to confirm the validity of Du moxibustion on perimenopausal syndrome of kidney-yang deficiency and then guide the clinical practice by studying and analyzing the respective curative effect of Du moxibustion and acupuncture on the syndrome through clinical observation. Methods: 60 patients with perimenopausal syndrome of kidney-yang deficiency were selected and then randomly divided into the observation group(Du moxibustion group)and the control group(acupuncture group),with 30 cases in each. The patients in Du moxibustion group were treated with Du moxibustion therapy once every week,4 times in total for each course of treatment;meanwhile the patients in the acupuncture group were treated with acupuncture, three times a week,4 weeks for every course of treatment.Kupperman scores and TCM syndrome scores of two groups before and after two courses of treatment were observed, recorded and compared to see whether there was statistical significance of these two methods in treating perimenopausal syndrome of kidney-yang deficiency. Results: Kupperman scores and TCM syndrome scores in each group before and after two courses of treatment were compared and it's found that there was a significant difference(P<0.05).Then two groups' scores were compared. There was also a significant difference(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the Du moxibustion group was 93.1% whereas the total effective of the acupuncture group was 86.7%.It is clear that a noticeable difference exists between the two total effective rates. Conclusion: Du moxibustion and acupuncture can help treat the symptoms of perimenopausal syndrome of kidney-yang deficiency, but the curative effect of the former is better(P<0.05).
