Research On The Elderly Rehabilitation Service For The Community Day Care Center From The Perspective Of Service Design

The ever-growing population aging has become one of the most prominent problems faced by the international community,which has also brought about an increase in the number of the disabled,posing a great challenge to the current capacity of rehabilitation.In China,the elderly-care system has undergone a major transformation:The urban family structure and scale are tending to be increasingly miniaturized and nuclear,therefore the popularity of the home-based elderly care mode has the potential to relieve the predicament of the elderly in the community,and the combination of home-based care and community care is gradually becoming an effective elderly care service mode.As a form of community-based elderly care,day care center has become a key player to improve elderly-care service in the community.On the other hand,according to the survey,the elderly in day care centers suffer certain health problems to some extent,and most of them suffer from chronic diseases and activity disorders.Therefore,to improve day care center service system through systematic research has become a task of urgency and significance.This article focuses on a number of day care centers in Shanghai.Firstly,the basic environment and rehabilitation service,including software and hardware,were investigated.Specific needs of day care center and implementation of service in regard of rehabilitation projects were analyzed.Secondly,key stakeholders were systematically analyzed and researched,and a questionnaire survey was carried out.In-depth interviews was conducted in order to understand the elderly and staff of the day care center.The theory and method of service design was employed to propose better design strategy and design solutions.Finally,as a breakthrough point,an upper limb rehabilitation training service is designed.Sensor technology,RFID technology were applicated to optimize rehabilitation hardware equipment,improve the treatment of physical dysfunctions with low cost-performance ratio,and refine the service content by establishing rehabilitation training incentive mechanism and rehabilitation interaction system.The purpose of this paper is to study the theory and method of service design,to propose design strategy in consideration of the day care center service improvement,to optimize the rehabilitation service procedure,to meet the multi-level rehabilitation needs of the elderly.A design process has been completed to explore new ways and improve the social elderly care service system.
