| Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of local external application of rhubarb and mirabilite powder package in accelerating the recovery after upper blepharoplasty.Methods:A total of 60 cases of patients with single eyelid admitted to the cosmetic and plastic surgery department of affiliated hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine from October 2018 to March 2019 were prepared for upper blepharoplasty.All the patients are female,aged between 18 and 30 years old(average 24).They were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,with 30 cases(60 eyelids)in each group.All the surgeries were performed by the same doctor,the operative methods were the internal fixation of dermal orbicularis oculi muscle flap and pretarsal fascia,inverted L epicanthoplasty.The intraoperative hemostasis was consistent.The highest point of the double eyelid line was marked by the suture for postoperative measurement.The incision was covered with gauze,the stitches were removed 7 days after the surgery.Local rhubarb and mirabilite powder was applied for 7 days(10-15min each time,4-6 times a day),and ice compress was intermittent on the first day postoperatively,in reatment group.Patients received intermittent ice compress for 1 day after surgery,and no other treatment was performed during the study period,in control group.Data collection:patients were placed in supine position with closed eyes.The width of the highest mark to the margin of the eyelid was measured at immediately,the first day and the seventh day after surgery with vernier calipers.The mean value was recorded for 3 times.At the same time,the swelling scores of the periocular tissues were recorded,evaluated by three doctors.Pain index was recorded at 1h and 24h after surgery.Wound healing and postoperative recovery were evaluated on the seventh day postoperatively.The data of the treatment group and the control group were statistically analyzed.Results:There was no significant difference in the width of double eyelid line and the swelling scores of the periocular tissues after operation immediately between the treatment group and the control group.On the first day after surgery,there was no significant difference between the two groups in these(P>0.05),no statistical significance was found.On the 7th day after surgery,there were significant differences in double eyelid line width and the swelling scores of the periocular tissues between the two groups(Double e)yelid line width:left side of the treatment group:7.14±0.3,left side of the control group:7.44±0.38,P=0.001,right side of the treatment group:7.16±0.37,right side of the control group:7.49±0.43,P=0.003.The score of eye tissue swelling:left side of the treatment group:2.6±0.77,left side of the control group:3.07±0.78,P=0.024,right side of the treatment group:2.6±0.86,right side of the control group:3.13±1.04,P=0.034),which was statistically significant.There was no significant difference in pain index between the two groups at 1h and 24h after surgery.Wound healing:in the treatment group,there were 30 cases(60 eyelids),and 57 cases with grade A healing,other cases with grade B healing,in the control group,52 cases with grade A healing and 8 cases healed with grade B.The significant effect rate of the treatment group was 95%,and the effective rate was up to 98.3%,both better than the control group 85%,95%.During the use of rhubarb and mirabilite powder package,there was no allergy,incision or conjunctiva irritation,no other adverse reactions,and the clinical effect was obviously.Conclusions:External application of rhubarb and mirabilite powder package after upper blepharoplasty can effectively accelerate the recovery of soft tissue swelling,which is conducive to wound healing and shortening the postoperative recovery period.This treatment method has good patient compliance,obvious clinical effect and low cost,so it has certain clinical significance. |
