Objective:By observing the improvement of TCM syndromes and antipyretic effect of Qinggan Decoction,an empirical oral prescription for children's common cold(wind-heat syndrome),the clinical efficacy and safety of Qinggan Decoction in treating children's common cold(wind-heat syndrome)were evaluated. Methods:In this study,a total of 60 cases of children's common cold(wind-heat syndrome)were selected. And they were divided into two groups according to random and control methods:treatment group and control group. In the treatment group,30 cases were treated with Qinggan Decoction, while in the control group,30 cases were treated with Pediatric Chiqiao clearing heat Granule. This study lasted for 3 days. After the end of the course, the data were analyzed. The overall curative effect, improvement of TCM syndromes before and after treatment, antipyretic effect and safety of the two groups were evaluated and analyzed.Results:1.Case completion:There were no cases fall off in the treatment group and the control group,30 cases in each group.2.Comparing the total effective rate of disease:The total effective rate of treatment group was 93.33%,and that of control group was 83.33%.Statistical calculation showed that the curative effect of two groups of children with TCM disease after treatment was P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant, indicating that the clinical efficacy of Qinggan Decoction as a treatment group for children's common cold(wind-heat syndrome)was better than that of the control group,Pediatric Chiqiao clearing heat Granule.3.Comparison of TCM syndrome scores after treatment:The score of TCM syndrome after treatment in the treatment group was 4.10±5.42,which was lower than that in the control group(7.13 ± 6.15).There was a difference between the two groups(P<0.05),indicating that the therapeutic effect of TCM syndrome in the treatment group was better than that in the control group.4.Improvement of TCM syndromes:Fever, thirst, anxiety, sore throat, yellowwish or redwish urine were tested P<0.05,which showed that the treatment group was superior to the control group in improving fever, sore throat, anxiety, thirst, yellowwish or redwish urine. While in the aspects of aversion to wind, cough, sneeze, nasal congestion and runny nose, they have no difference and statistical sence.5.Comparison of antipyretic efficacy:The onset time and antipyretic time of the treatment group were tested P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant. The onset time and antipyretic time of the treatment group were shorter than those of the control group.6.Safety:There were no obvious adverse reactions in the two groups during the treatment, which indicated that Qinggan Decoction and Pediatric Chiqiao clearing heat Granule were safe in clinical practice. Conclusion:The clinical effect of Qinggan Decoction on children's common cold(wind-heat syndrome)is affirmative. The total effective rate of the treatment group is higher than that of the control group. The treatment group has significant effects on fever, restlessness, sore throat, thirst for drinking and yellow-red urine symptoms, which is superior to Pediatric Chiqiao clearing heat Granule. At the same time, the onset time and antipyretic time of the treatment group are shorter than those of the control group. The treatment group is safe in clinical practice. In conclusion,Qinggan Decoction can effectively treat children's common cold(wind-heat syndrome),and has safety.
