Objective: Lumbar disc herniation is a complicated pathophysiological process ? From the point of view of pathological manifestation of lumbar protrusion nucleus pulposus and location of imaging region, there has certain reference value for clinical diagnosis and formulation of treatment plan of lumbar herniated nucleus pulposus. This study was conducted by combining the pathological and imaging manifestations of lumbar disc herniation with the clinical symptoms of the patients themselves. To provide scientific basis for clinical diagnosis and scientific choice of treatment methods for lumbar disc herniation. Methods: Recording and observing the name, age, history and imaging findings of patients with protrusion of nucleus pulposus in area a and b of zone 1-2 in layer I of Hu Yougu subdivision, and asking the patient to fill out the lumbar JOA score form and the VAS score form. The pathological HE and masson staining sections of the nucleus pulposus removed after operation were observed. Finally relevant data is statisticsed and analysised. Results: A total of 35 patients with lumbar disc herniation who met the inclusion criteria were collected.According to pathological section,20 cases of nucleus pulposus showed slight degeneration, while 15 cases of degeneration of nucleus pulposus were more serious. The number of chondrocytes in the two groups was significantly different(P<0.01).There were significant differences in age and course of disease between the two groups(P<0.01).However,there was no significant difference in JOA score and VAS score and straight leg elevation test degree between the two groups(P>0.05).There were 19 patients with protruding nucleus pulposus in region a of layer I 1-2 and 16 patients with nucleus pulposus located in region b of zone 1-2 of layer I.There was no significant difference in the number of nucleus pulposus chondrocytes in patients with two protrusion regions(P>0.05),There was no significant difference in JOA score and VAS score and straight leg elevation test degree between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:1?The degenerative changes of nucleus pulposus can be further observed and judged by hematoxylin-eosin staining and masson staining in the pathological manifestation of nucleus pulposus herniation of lumbar intervertebral disc.2?According to Hu Yougu theory, there is no significant correlation between the severity of lumbar disc nucleus pulposus herniation and its pathologicaldegeneration.3 ? There was no significant correlation between the severity of clinical symptoms and pathological degeneration of nucleus pulposus herniation in patients with lumbar disc herniation.4?The degree of pathological degeneration of lumbar disc herniated nucleus pulposus was significantly correlated with the duration of the disease.5?The degree of pathological degeneration of lumbar disc herniated nucleus pulposus was significantly correlated with the patient's age.6 ? There was no significant correlation between the severity of clinical symptoms and the degree of nucleus pulposus herniation in patients with lumbar disc herniation.
