ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to explore the status of work environment satisfaction and work environment satisfaction level of nurses in the hospital of Decheng District,Dezhou City,Shandong Province including Dezhou United Hospital,Decheng City Hospital Anorectal Branch,Decheng District Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Dezhou City Hospital.We understand the main factors influencing the nurses work environment satisfaction in order to find the loopholes in nursing management.Through this study we can provide a scientific basis for improving the nurses' satisfaction and make effective measures.MethodsBy consulting the literature,consulting managers,visiting clinical nurses,etc.selecting the appropriate work environment table and work environment satisfaction scale and adopting the census method,select the nurses of the four hospitals including Dezhou United Hospital,Decheng City Hospital Anorectal Branch,Decheng District Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Dezhou City Hospital in Decheng District of Dezhou city.From May 2017 to June 2017,registered nurses from four hospitals were our research objects.565 questionnaires were distributed and 555 were collected,all of which were valid questionnaires.The recovery rate was 98.23%.The questionnaire included three parts:the basic situation,the nursing work environment scale(PES),and the nursing work environment satisfaction scale.Epidata3.0 was used for data entry and SPSS20.0 was used for data analysis and processing.Descriptive statistical methods were used tocalculate the scores of each dimension.One Way ANOVA was used to compare the nursing work environment scores of the four hospitals.Kruskal-wallis Test was used to compare the satisfaction level of the work environment of the four hospitals and analyze the influence of nurse sociodemographic factors on the satisfaction of the working environment.P<0.05 was considered statistically.Results1.A total of 565 questionnaires were distributed in this survey and 555 copies were collected.When the questionnaires were collected,they were viewed on the spot and the problems were corrected on the spot.The recovery was valid questionnaires,and the recovery rate was 98.23%.2.Among the five dimensions of the work environment,the highest score was the medical cooperation;the second was the foundation of high quality nursing service and the ability and leadership style of the nursing manager;the lowest was sufficient human and material resources and nurses to participate in hospital affairs.After One Way ANOVA,the differences in the scores of the nursing work environment of the four hospitals were statistically significant(P=0.01)and the scores of the four hospitals in the nursing work environment were statistically different(P =0.01).3.Among the eight dimensions of job satisfaction,the lowest job satisfaction of nurses was the job compensation dimension.After Kruskal-wallis Test,the difference of the total scores of the satisfaction of the nursing work environment in the four hospitals was statistically significant(P=0.01)and the scores of the four hospitals in the satisfaction of the nursing work environment were statistically significant.(P=0.01).4.According to Kruskal-wallis Test,the nurses of different first degree,position,personnel status and whether they participated in the academic team had no statistical difference in overall work satisfaction scores and specific dimension scores(P>0.05).5.According Kruskal-wallis Test,there was no significant difference in the overall work satisfaction scores of nurses of different ages,highest academic qualifications and professional titles(P>0.05),but the scores of some dimensions were statistically different.6.The satisfaction of nurses of different ages was statistically significant in professional and personal development,scheduling principles,job compensation,teamwork,and job safety satisfaction scores(P=0.01,P=0.05,P=0.04,P=0.05,P=0.03);there were statistical differences in the four dimensions of management form,professional and personal development,scheduling principle and teamwork among the highest degree nurses(P=0.05,P=0.01,P=0.02,P = 0.01);there was a statistical difference in the professional and personal development,scheduling principles and teamwork in different job titles(P = 0.02,P = 0.04,P = 0.05).7.According to Kruskal-wallis Test,there were statistical differences in the overall scores of nurses' work environment satisfaction in different ages,marital status,health status,and department(P<0.05).8.There are statistical differences in the five dimensions of management form,professional and personal development,scheduling principle,teamwork and work safety(P=0.01,P=0.00,P=0.00,P=0.00,P=0.00);there are statistical differences in nurses' satisfaction in different marital conditions in terms of management form,professional and personal development,scheduling principle,teamwork,work safety and family and work balance((P=0.00,P=0.00,P=0.00,P=0.00,P=0.00,P=0.01));the satisfaction of nurses with different health status was different in each dimension(P<0.05);there were statistically significant differences in the five dimensions of nurses' satisfaction among different departments in terms of management form,scheduling principle,work remuneration,work safety and family and work balance(P=0.01,P=0.01,P=0.00,P=0.00,,P=0.03).ConclusionsAt present,the working conditions of the nurses and nurses' satisfaction with their working environment were at a low level in4 dimethyl hospitals of Decheng District.Different hospitals,age,marital status,health status,education,position and department nurses,the job environment satisfaction of nurses was different.Different marital status,health status,age and department all affected the satisfaction of the nursing work environment.The age of nurses was the factors affecting the satisfaction of nurses' working environment.
