The Development And Evaluation Of The Acupuncture Deqi Scale

Objective: This research reviews and analyzes related literature of deqi,investigates existing deqi scales for acupuncture and summarizes the deficiency of the current research.For current acupuncture deqi research needs,the paper constructs a measuring tool that can reflect the clinical acupuncture characteristics accurately,by completing the work of quantitative index related to acupuncture deqi.Methods: The author wants to clarify the concept of deqi and collect the deqi data through retrieving ancient books and literature.There are patient version,health version and doctor version questionnaires,which are on the basis of literature arrangement,information items formation,small-scale interview investigation,the visit of clinical doctors and specialists,the result optimization and the item screening.The intentional survey questionnaires are conducted on a large scale,which in the means of face-to-face interview and online questionnaire.After the epidemiological investigation and statistics,it comes into 2 kinds of scales,including doctor version and patient version.The scale adds the measurement of distance and time on acupuncture deqi sensation.The scale is divided into the patient version and the doctor version.60 patients are measured on the surface validity and internal consistency which is based on the original scale.All statistical methods are performed by using SPSS24.0statistical software.Results: A total of 1789 questionnaires were issued,and the recovery rate was100%.The scale shows that different individual has different deqi sensation(acid,numbness,distension,and heaviness).There is no statistically significant difference in the rest deqi sensation.In the neck pain group,the appearance of the deqi sensation are distension,heaviness,pain and acid.The appearance of the deqi sensation in normal group are numbness,pain,heaviness.Deqi conduction distance is different in different body states,for example,deqi conduction distance in the neck pain group is farther than that of the normal group,and the threshold value of tenderness is lower in theneck pain group than that of the normal group.The pain sensation is different in different gender,and women are more likely to have pain sensation during needling.The doctor have different needle sensations(gentle,smooth,heaviness,pull)in different body condition.And the appearance of the needle sensation are different in different body states,the time of the neck pain group is faster than that of the normal group.This scale has the good content validity,which scores 8 points.However,the internal consistency evaluation of the scale is low and needs to be further verified.Conclusion:This deqi scale can reflect deqi sensation in clinic,and enrich the relevant quantitative indexes of acupuncture,that adds doctor's deqi sensation and the measurement of distance and time on acupuncture deqi sensation.What's more,this scale has high score in content validity,provides reasonable evaluation method and standard reference for clinical treatment research.However,the internal consistency evaluation of the scale is low,and the accuracy of deqi quantification needs to be improved.
