Objective:1 To translate the Neonatal Pain,Agitation and Sedation Scale(N-PASS)into Chinese for the assessment of neonatal pain, providing an effective tool for the assessment of NICU neonatal pain.2 To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the pain assessment scale, and to explore its applicability in china.Method:After contacting with Patricia Hummel with E-mail and receiving the permission, the N-PASS was translated into Chinese Version. And it was translated from the original, back translation and then adjusts the cultural. The N-PASS was used in 52 patients of Zhejiang University Children's Hospital from February 1,2016 to December 31,2016.The data were translated analyzed by SPSS 19.0,and the Chinese N-PASS was evaluated by content validity, construct validity and internal consistency reliability.Results:1 N-PASS is concise and easy to understand. We can use it to assess the neonatal pain and sedation and analgesia from behavioral and physiological multi dimensions.2 The reliability of N-PASS:the Cronbach's alpha was 0.957 before the drug intervention in the pain/agitation project, and the Cronbach's alpha was 0.888 after the drug intervention, and the Cronbach's alpha was 0.967 of the sedation project.3 The validity of N-PASS:N-PASS score and CRIES scale has a good correlation. Before drug intervention r= 0.820,after drug intervention r= 0.815.4 The response of the scale:SRM was 4.9(P<0.01).Conclusions:N-PASS is concise and easy to understand. We can use it to assess the neonatal pain and sedation and analgesia from behavioral and physiological multi dimensions. It facilitates the assessment of NICU nurses in clinical work, and provides the basis for the treatment of pain and observation of clinicians to adjust,it is worthy of clinical application.
