Clinical Research On Moxibustion With Seed-sized Moxa Cone Combined With Auricular Acupuncture For The Treatment Of Heart-spleen Deficiency Of Chronic Insomnia

ObjectiveThis subject is to compare the changes in patients with heart-spleen deficiency of chronic insomnia in clinical characteristics before and after the treatment of pure auricular acupuncture with moxibustion with seedsized moxa cone combined with auricular acupuncture therapy,to explore the advantages of moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cone and auricular acupuncture,and to preliminarily discuss the treatment effect,the mechanism of action,the therapeutic advantage and the safety.Methods66 cases that accorded with diagnostic criteria for chronic insomnia in Western Medicine and insomnia(heart-spleen deficiency)in the diagnosis of traditional Chinese Medicine and agreed to take part in this experiment were collected and randomly divided into treatment group and control group.The treatment group received moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cone and auricular acupuncture therapy,the control group was given auricular acupuncture treatment alone.The two groups were treated with one month for a period of treatment.Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)scale and TCM syndrome score were filled on the day of the first treatment and the second day after the 1 course of treatment.The data collected were analyzed by SPSS19.0 statistical software.Results66 patients were included in the study,and the whole research process was completed and the complete data were collected from the treatment group and the control group of 32 cases,respectively.The results showed that the recovery rate and the efficiency of moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cone combined with auricular acupuncture therapy were both better than auricular acupuncture treatment alone to heart-spleen deficiency of chronic insomnia,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cone combined with auricular acupuncture treatment of heart-spleen deficiency of chronic insomnia in reducing the TCM syndrome total score is better than that of pure auricular acupuncture treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).After the end of the treatment,the treatment group was more effective in improving sleep quality,sleeping time,sleep efficiency and daytime dysfunction than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionThe results of this study showed that moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cone could significantly enhance the effect of auricular acupuncture for treatment of chronic insomnia with heart-spleen deficiency.At the same time,this method has high security and no additional damage is caused when the operation is unmistakable,which can avoid the potential of drug therapy for liver and kidney damage and it is safe,simple and effective and worthy of clinical promotion.
