The Clinical Research To Treat Lumbar Disc Herniation By Using Moxibustion With Seed-sized Moxa Cone To Plant Zhiyin Point Combined With Conventional Acupuncture Treatment Based On The Theory Of Contralateral Acupuncture

Object:Lumbar disc herniation is one of the common and frequently-occurring acupuncture clinical diseases. Despite the current acupuncture clinical research on the treatment of this disease is more, but more favored on new technology research, the research on ancient classical acupuncture method is less. This research is based on the contralateral acupuncture theory of classical acupuncture to treat lumbar disc herniation, to observe the curative effect between the experimental group and control group, in order to search a new effective method of acupuncture to treat this disease.Method:The patients are all outpatients and inpatients from Chengdu university of traditional Chinese medicine affiliated hospital’s prevent disease center and acupuncture branch in February2013to January2014. The64cases were randomly divided into2groups, the experimental group included32cases, others are in the control group. Patients in the experimental group used conventional acupuncture combined with moxibustion with ’seed-sized moxa cone to plant zhiyin point to treat, the control group only used conventional acupuncture. After five treatments, keep a record of VAS and JOA, comparatively observe the therapeutic efficacy and safety of the two groups after20therapy days. Results:1. The difference between experimental group and control group in gender, age, course of the disease, TCM syndrome differentiation, VAS score and JOA score before treatment don’t have statistically significant.(P>0.05)2. After the treatment, compared two groups with curative rate, the curative rate of treatment group is90.32%, the other is68.76%. Obviously the treatment group’s curative effect is better than that of control group (P<0.05).3. After the treatment, compared the treatment group and control group with the two groups’pain scores before and after treatment, all had significant difference (P<0.05).4. After the treatment, compared the treatment group and control group with JOA scores before and after treatment, all had significant difference (P<0.05).5. By following the test group and control group30days after the end of the treatment, no one recurrence.6. Safety evaluation:only1patient feel her pain on the waist became serious during the acupuncture treatment, but she can continue to treat.Conclusions1. Based on the contralateral acupuncture theory of the classical acupuncture to treat lumbar disc herniation by using moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cone to plant zhiyin point combined with conventional acupuncture treatment, the total effective rate is higher than conventional acupuncture treatment. 2. After the treatment, the experimental group in improving patients with waist and leg pain symptoms, the curative effect is better than control group.3. Acupuncture has exactly curative effect and high safety to this disease.
