A Clinical Study On The Effect Of Xingnao Kaiqiao Acupuncture Therapy For Treating Cerebral Infarction In Acute Stage In Southern Xinjiang

ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical intervention effect of the Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture therapy on the treatment of cerebral infarction in acute stage in Xiaohaizi reclamation area of Southern Xinjiang,thereby supplementing clinical data of minority area and attaining the reference for more widely clinical use of this therapy locally.Methods80 cases with cerebral infarction in acute stage from internal medicine ward of the Tumushuke People's Hospital were randomly divided into the Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture group and the traditional acupuncture group,40 cases in each one.Two groups of patients both obtain routine medical therapy,Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture group was given Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture therapy and traditional acupuncture group received traditional acupuncture therapy on the basic treatment.Acupuncture treatment were executed once a day,14 sessions constituting one course.Disease severity was evaluated before treatment and after treating 14 days with tests of Stroke Clinical Effect Evaluating Standard of TCM,the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)and Barthel Index(BI).Results1.The total effective rate was 92.5% in the Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture group and 72.5% in the traditional acupuncture group with a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).2.The disease grading state of the Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture group wassuperior to that of the traditional acupuncture group,which made a significant difference statistically(P<0.01).3.The NIHSS scores of the two groups had decreased after treatment(P<0.01).There was a larger difference of the NIHSS scores before and after treatment in the Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture group compared to the traditional acupuncture group(P<0.01).4.After treatment,the BI scores were increased evidently in both groups(P<0.01),with more significant improvement in the Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture group than in the traditional acupuncture group(P<0.01).5.No adverse events occurred in both groups during the treatment.ConclusionXingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture shows a better clinical efficacy on the treatment of cerebral infarction in acute stage in Southern Xinjiang,with more obvious reduction on the degree of neurological function deficit and disability.It is safe and worth local popularization.
