ObjectiveThis clinical study is to investigate whether the Tongdu acupuncture therapy method is better than manual body acupuncture in treatment of anovulatory infertility disorder.This is to observe the clinical efficiency of this therapy and evaluate the results objectively.MethodsThis study is a randomized control study,collecting 60 case study patients who met the diagnostic criteria of this study from First Affiliated Hospital ofGuangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine University from January 2017 till December 2017.case patients are used excel for randomization,using simple randomize method the patient are placed 1:1 into either experimental group(Tongdu method)and controlled group(manual body acupuncture).Each group has 30 patients in observe the clinical efficiency.Both groups are being examined for 3 menstrual period.Both groups are undertaking acupuncture treatment 3 times a week,each time being needled for 30 minutes.Case patients do not know which group they are belonged to.After the three menstrual period,the observed results include before and after menstrual cycle change,symptom change,ovulation and pregnancy rates will be recorded and objectively analyzes both groups post-treatment effect.ResultAfter the treatment,pregnancy rate for trial group is 26.7%,control group 16.7%,the result is statistically insignificant(P>0.05);ovulation rate for trial group is 62%,control group is 48%,the result is statistically significant(P<0.05);for change in menstrual cycle,the trial group has 21 patient retains normal cycle,control group has 18 patient retains normal cycle,the result is statistically insignificant(P>0.05).Change in TCM symptoms,after using paired single T test comparing the result for before and after the treatment,the result is statistically significant(P<0.05);in total effectiveness count,the trial group reaches 96% effective and control group is 90% effective,result is statistically insignificant(P>0.05).ConclusionFrom the results we can see the Tongdu method has significant difference in treating the TCM symptoms and increase the ovulation rate for patients who suffered from anovulatory infertility.The clinical result shows the Tongdu method is effective in clinical trial,and definately worth to further investigate in the future.
