Objective To explore the impacts of resilience and social support on suicide ideation of unipolar and bipolar depression patients,in order to provide a theoretical basis for the intervention on suicide ideation of depression patients.Method A total of 251 depression patients in episodes were collected from Jining Psychiatric Prevention Hospital from Apirl 1,2017 to December 31,2017,which includes 161 unipolar depression patients and 90 bipolar depression patients. The Self-made demographic questionnaire, the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),the Self-rating Idea of Suicide Scale(SIOSS)and the Beck Depression Inventory(BDI)were completed by all participants. All data were analyzed by SPSS19.0 software.Results(1)The number of hospitalizations and visits of bipolar depression patients were more than those of unipolar depression patients, the difference was statistically significant(p?0.01).(2)There was significant statistical difference on the utilization of support between unipolar and bipolar depression patients(p?0.01).The utilization of support of unipolar depression patients was superior to bipolar depression patients.(3)There was no significant statistical difference on the incidence of suicide ideation between unipolar and bipolar depression patients(p?0.05),and there were no significant statistical differences on the total scores of suicide ideation and the sores of suicide ideation dimension between the two groups(p?0.05).(4)The scores of despair, optimism, sleep, disguise and suicide ideation in unipolar depression patients were significantly and positively correlated with the total score of BDI(p?0.01),and were negatively correlated with the scores of resilience dimension,resilience(p?0.01).The scores of despair, optimism, sleep and suicide ideation of unipolar depression patients were negatively correlated with the scores of social support, social support dimension(p?0.01).(5)The scores of despair, optimism, sleep and suicide ideation of bipolar depression patients were significantly and positively correlated with the total score of BDI(p?0.01),and were negatively correlated with the scores of resilience, resilience dimension and the scores of social support, objective support and utilization of support(p?0.01 or ?0.05).The scores of hopelessness, optimism and suicide ideation of bipolar depression patients were negatively correlated with the scores of subjective support(p?0.01 or ?0.05).(6)In unipolar depression patients, the depression, resilience,a history of attempted suicide, social support, age and gender entered the suicide ideation regression equation in turn.In bipolar depression patients, the depression, resilience, social support and drinking history entered the suicide ideation regression equation in turn.(7)The test of mediating effect indicated that the resilience mediated the relationship between the depression and suicide ideation, and the mediating effect was 28.28%.The social support mediated the relationship between the depression and suicide ideation, and the mediating effect was 14.28%.The resilience mediated the relationship between the social support and suicide ideation, and the mediating effect was 46.01%.Conclusion(1)There was a significant correlation between resilience, social support, depression and suicide ideation in unipolar and bipolar depression patients.Resilience and social support were negatively correlated with suicide ideation, while depression was positively correlated with suicide ideation. In other words, resilience and social support were protective factors of suicide ideation, and depression was a risk factor of suicide ideation.(2)Resilience and social support have a mediating effect between depression and suicide ideation.By improving the patient's resilience, social support can reduce the impact of depression on suicide ideation.(3)Resilience plays a mediating role in the social support and suicide ideation of depression patients.By improving the patient's resilience may be an effective approach to reduce the risk of suicide ideation among depression patients.
