The Development Of The Theoretical Framework,Item Pool And Response Scales Of The Moxibustion Propagated Sensation Scale

ObjectivesMoxibustion Propagated Sensation scale which aims at judging the appearance,subdivide,quantify and evaluate the sensation objectively and scientifically.In this study,we did some preliminary work that constructed the theoretical structure model,the item pool and response scales of the Moxibustion Propagated Sensation Scale that could provide a objective,comprehensive and universal scale for clinical practice and scientific study.MethodsWe searched the database like Pubmed,VIP database,CNKI,Wanfang Chinese medical journal database for the self-made acupuncture or moxibustion scales.We needed to understand the whole standard procedures of developing the scale such as the basic character and constitute of the scale,the construction of the items pool,dimensions,facts etc.We searched the VIP database,CNKI,Wanfang Chinese medical journal database for the description of propagated sensation to form the important part of the items pool.We consulted the experts in Acupuncture,Mxibustion and statistics throughout the study to guide the implementation of specific tasks,feasibility and problems that should be paid attention to.The theoretical framework and structural properties of the scale were determined by the results of experts consultation after the end of the literature search.We constructed the items pool according to the literature research and implementation of the focus group.We selected the item pool by focus group and many experts by Delphi methods.We also investigated the normal people and medical personnel who had experience the propagated sensation of moxibustion to provide descriptors in response scales and we select them by the statistics data.ResultAccording to literature search in Chinese and English databases,we can refer to two domestic and eight foreign self-made acupuncture and moxibustion sensation scales.The processes and methods of those scales can provide good ideas for our study.Combined with the specific circumstances of the scale,according to the result of literature research and expert advice,the theoretical framework of Moxibustion Propagated Sensation Scale,including the function,structure,name,applicable area and suitable crowd is preliminary established.We constructed 52 items from literature research and 47 items from focus group's opinion to form the original item pool.We selected 63 items by determining the inclusion and excluding criteria of the item pool and after the focus group's ratings.After the grading procedure of the focus group we had 36 items left.We investigated the 32 authoritative experts of the country that responded positively.The first round of the expert consultation didn't meet great consistency and we eliminate 11 items by their opinions.The second round of the expert consultation,we selected 25 items of coordination coefficient was 0.724,P<0.05,which means the experts meet great consistency and we finished the consult.After 31 effected questionnaires out of 33 respondents,we selected 5 descriptors of the response scale by statistics.ConclusionThe preliminary work of Moxibustion Propagated Sensation Scale was constructed including its basic framework,item pool and response scales.The scale has the characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine can evaluate the quantity and types of the propagated sensation of Moxibustion.
