Objective:To observe the curative effect of Guizhi Licorice Longgu oyster decoction on senile insomnia due to yang deficiency.Methods:From May 2016 to October 2017,60 elderly patients with chronic insomnia in outpatient clinic of the first affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of traditional Chinese Medicine were divided into two groups with 30 cases treated with Guizhi licorice and dragon bone oyster decoction.The control group was treated with alprazolam for 4 weeks.Pittsburgh Sleep quality Index(PSQI)and TCM symptom scale were used before and after treatment.Results:First,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 86.9 % and that of the control group was 83.3%.The Ridit analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups;Second,the treatment group in improving the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)score,sleep quality,daytime function better than the control group;Third,in the aspect of TCM symptoms of patients with TCM symptoms,aversion to cold,lassitude,night urination has improved significantly,compared with the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusion:The treatment of Guizhi Licorice Longgu Oyster soup decoction on senile insomnia with yang deficiency can significantly improve the main insomnia symptoms and other associated unsuitable symptoms without obvious side effects.
