Theory Investigate And Clinical Study On Senile Insomnia

To investigate the important significant of kidney deficiency in the senile insomnia through the correlated theory analysis about the senile insomnia and the clinical observation to the 60 senile insomnia patients who come medical department of nerve to see the doctor at the Shan dong affiliated hospital of TCM university during April 2002 to December 2003.Firstly, the theory analysis part summarizes the character of senile physiology and pathology, the contemporary documents and reports about treating senile insomnia and raise the viewpoint that the kidney deficiency is fundamental within the senile insomnia patients. Then combining the yin-yang theory of TCM about sleep, theory of the defensive qi move ,theory of spirit governing and theory of kidney governing hiding and storing to discuss the important mechanism of deficiency kidney insomnia.The clinical observation selects 60 senile insomnia patients who confirm the collated symptom complex diagnose standard, the 60 patients were divided into deficiency of the kidney essence group, deficiency of kidney yin group, deficiency of kidney yang group and were given respectively self-named I recipe, II recipe, III recipe, then observing the sleep quality and symptom complex accumulated points in pretreatment and after treatment .The results of statistical analysis indicate that invigorate kidney recipe has better clinical effect .So we can say that kidney deficiency is the important mechanism of senile insomnia. It is the basic standpoint that treating senile insomnia undertake the treatment through kidney.
