Objective: To investigate the incidence of hypertension and related risk factors among original elderly residents in Zhuanghe Shicheng Island, and then provide the basis for the effective prevention of hypertension and the formulation of local health policies. Methods: From June to August 2016,we conducted a survey on the incidence of hypertension and related risk factors among original elderly residents over 65 years old in Zhuanghe Shicheng Island,Dalian, and analyzed the information of 656 people whose survey data were complete.First,we designed the questionnaire to survey used the revised World Health Organization monitoring trends and determinants in cardiovascular disease(WHO-MONICA)project,including demographic data(age, gender, occupation, literacy and education),dietary habit, lifestyle(labor, smoking history, drinking history and health education).Second, height, weight, waist circumference, and abdominal circumference were measured to calculate body mass index(BMI).Fasting venous blood 10 ml was drawn and centrifuged. The serum separated was packaged and frozen, and then sent to biochemical test in the laboratory center in Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital of Dalian University.Test projects included Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),High-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),C-reactive protein(CRP),Triglyceride(TG),Total Protein(TP),Albumin(Alb),Globulin(GLO)and Uric acid. The middle clean part of morning urine was kept to test urinary microalbumin(UMA),urine potassium(UK),urine sodium, urine chloride and urine creatinine. The Spot Urine Measurement was adopted to estimate the respondents' salt intakes.Last, according to 2010 Chinese guidelines for the management of hypertension, respondents were divided into two groups, hypertension group and non-hypertension group. The SPSS 24.0 software package was used for statistical processing. The independent sample t-test analyzed the measurement data accord with normality and variance homogeneity. The t' test analyzed the measurement data accord with normality but not variance homogeneity. The Mann-Whitney U test analyzed the measurement data not accord with normality and variance homogeneity. The results were expressed as median(interquartile range). We used the Chi-square test to compare the difference between two groups, also to calculate and compare the ratio.multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the distribution for the risk factors of hypertension. Results: Among 656 original elderly residents, there were the incidence of hypertension 69.6%(457/656),in man 65.6%(206/314),in woman 73.3%(251/342),the average age 71.5±5.8,the average height 162.3±8.8cm and the average weight 65.1±11.3kg,47.9%(314/656)were males,52.1%(342/656)were females,18.1% were smokers and 11.6% were drinkers.Cultural illiteracy accounted for 21.2%,primary school education accounted for 65.2%,and never received health education accounted for 75.3%.75.3% of respondents were diagnosed with hypertension for the first time in the community. The estimated salt intake was approximately 11.58±1.28 g.The percentage of elderly residents who had received health education and had proper manual labor in hypertension group was lower than non-hypertension group.Under the logistic regression analysis, obese people were more susceptible to hypertension than non-obese people,(OR=1.052,1.137,P<0.05).Smokers were more susceptible than non-smokers,(OR=1.632,P<0.05).Elderly residents with high Uric acid were more susceptible than the ones with normal Uric acid,(Or=1.012,P<0.05).Those with high TG and high LDL-C were more susceptible than the normal TG and normal HDL-C ones.Multivariate logistic regression analysis on uniform factor differently showed that weight, waist circumference,LDL-C,Uric acid and UCr were the independent risk factors for hypertension. Conclusion:The prevalence of hypertension among the elderly residents in Shi Cheng Island in Dalian was 69.6%,The incidence of hypertension among original elderly residents in Zhuanghe Shicheng Island,Dalian was 69.6%.The salt intake of elderly resident in island was approximately 11±1.28 kg.The incidence of hypertension had relation with dietary habit, labor, health education, smoking history, drinking history,Uric acid,TG,LDL-C,weight and waist circumference.Weight, waist circumference,LDL-C,Uric acid and UCr were the independent risk factors for hypertension.
