Objective: To evaluate the current status and severity of occupational stress, understand their mental health and working ability, explore the influence factors of the three, and analyze the relationship among them.To provide a reference for subsequent relevant studies in this occupational group, provide coal chemical industry and related departments with evidence to take effective measures to ensure the physical and mental health of the workers and make sure maximize productivity at the same time. Methods:By using cluster random sampling,a questionnaire survey was carried out among coal chemical industry professionals in Xinjiang whose working years were more than 1years.Results: 1)The survey released 1500 questionnaires, recycling effective questionnaire 1456,and the valid usable return rate was 97.07%.2)The evaluation results of occupational stress: The detection rate of occupational stress among coal chemical workers was 12.84%,there were statistically significant differences in occupational stress detection rate among coal chemical workers by sex, age, working age, educational background, marital status, income and shift work system(P<0.05).Except for ethnic groups, there are different degrees of difference in the scores of 3 variables in the other variables, including pay, return and internal investment(P< 0.05).Using logistic regression analysis, sex, working age, educational background and shift work system are the influencing factors of occupational stress among coal chemical workers.3)The evaluation results of mental health: the positive rate of psychological symptoms was 19.92%,The SCL-90 scores of different age, working years, educational background, marital status, income, shift work system and occupational stress were statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of logistic regression analysis on the influencing factors of mental health showed that educational background, shift work system, marital status, income, effort, reword and internal input were the influencing factors of mental health.4)The evaluationresults of working ability: The coal chemical workers' average score of WAI index was42.53 ±5.39.Except for the ethnic, there is a statistical difference in the working ability index of coal chemical workers with different demographic characteristics(P < 0.05).Regression analysis showed that age, education and income were the demographic characteristics of working ability.5)The relationship between occupational stress, mental health and working ability: Indexes of SCL-90 scale, three dimensions of ERI scale and effort-reword ratio were statistically different among the coal chemical workers with different working ability levels(P<0.05).Partial correlation analysis showed that WAI was negatively correlated with SCL-90 and ERI(P < 0.01),SCL-90 was positively correlated with ERI(P<0.01).Conclusion: 1)The occupational stress of coal chemical workers investigated in Xinjiang is relatively well.Occupational stress rate was higher in males than in females, gender, working age, educational background and shift work system were influencing factors of occupational stress.2)The mental health of coal chemical workers in Xinjiang is higher than the average level of occupational population in Xinjiang and the whole country.Education, shift work system, marriage status and income are demographic factors that influenced mental health.Effort, internal input were risk factors for mental health, and reword for a protective factor.3)The proportion of Xinjiang coal chemical workers with working ability in medium or above is 88.12%,the working ability is generally good.Age,education and income are the demographic characteristics of the working ability.Partial correlation analysis shows that work ability was negatively correlated with mental health status, effort and internal input, and positively correlated with reword.Effort, reword, mental health, sex, age and education are the influential factors of working ability.Occupational stress is positively correlated with mental health symptoms and is a risk factor for mental health.
