Objective: To observe the effect of Taohong Siwu Decoction on hidden blood loss after PFNA in elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture and to explore the role of traditional Chinese medicine in reducing the risk factors of postoperative fractures, and to provide more choices for perioperative medication. Methods:Selected from January 2017 to January 2018 for hospitalization in the orthopaedic ward of Ruikang Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine. After being the inclusion criterias and exclusion criterias, they were selected and entered into the study cohort between the ages of 60-85 years old senile femur rotor 60 patients with fractures were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method according to the order of admission. The two groups adopted PFNA operation. The observation group began to take Taohong Siwu Decoction continuously for one week under the routine treatment on the first postoperative day. However, the control group only received routine treatment without taking Taohong Siwu Decoction. The blood routine was monitored before operation and on days 1,3and 7 after operation, the patient's dominant blood loss was collected during and after the operation, and calculated hidden blood loss based on the relevant datas, and compared the differences between the two groups to analyze the effect of Taohong Siwu Decoction on hidden blood loss.Results:(1)Comparison of hemoglobin(HGB)and hematocrit(HCT)before and after treatment in both groups.Comparison between groups:There was no significant difference in HGB and HCT between the two groups before operation(P>0.05),the test were comparable; There was no significant difference in HGB and HCT between the two groups on the 1st and 3rd days after operation(P>0.05),indicating that the treatment effect of Taohong Siwu Decoction has not been shown. There was a statistically significant difference on the 7th day after operation(P<0.05),and the levels of HGB and HCT in the observation group on the 7th day after operation were higher than those in the control group, indicating that Taohong Siwu Decoction can improve the levels of HGB and HCT.Intra-group comparison:There were significant differences between the HGB and HCT after operation on the 1st,3rd and 7th days after operation(P<0.05),and the levels of HGB and HCT were lower after operation than before operation, indicating postoperative blood loss.(2)Comparison of postoperative hidden blood loss between two groups.Comparison between groups:There was no significant difference between the two groups on the 1st and 3rd days after operation(P>0.05).There was a statistical difference on the 7th day after operation(P<0.05),and the amount of hidden blood loss in the control group was more than that in the observation group, indicating that Taohong Siwu Decoction can reduce the amount of postoperative hidden blood loss.Intra-group comparison:Comparing the first postoperative day with the postoperative day 3,the postoperative day 3 and the postoperative day 7 were statistically different(P<0.05),and the amount of hidden blood loss was the most on the third postoperative day. Conclusion: Taohong Siwu Decoction can improve hemoglobin and hematocrit in patients with postoperative femoral intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly, and reduce the amount of postoperative hidden blood loss.
