Objective:To Observe the X-ray evaluation methods or the disappeared and alleviated ache of custom orthopedic insoles in the treatment of the children with symptomatic flexible flat foot, and to explore the clinical efficacy on the pain symptoms of the children. To explore the influence of custom orthopedic insoles on the foot arch growth and mechanism of the children with flexible flat foot.Methods:1.X-ray evaluation methods and clinical effect of custom orthopedic insoles in the treatment of the children with symptomatic flexible flat footChildren with symptomatic flexible flat foot were divided into intervention group and control group according to whether or not wearing orthopedic insoles.X-ray images in standing weight-bearing position of the intervention group(before padding,or wearing a customized orthopedic insoles)and control group were obtained to measure the related index, such as the talus-first metatarsal angle and the talocalcaneal angle in anteroposterior and lateral position films, the calcaneal pitch angle and the arch index in lateral position films. The scores of the Wong-Baker FACES Rating Scale were also obtained, then statistical analysis was done to compare the differences of each value before and after treatment.2.Influence of custom orthopedic insoles on the foot arch growth of the children with flexible flat footChildren with flexible flat foot were divided into the insoles group and the no-insoles group according to whether or not wearing orthopedic insoles.X-ray images in standing weight-bearing position of the two groups were obtained to measure the above-mentioned index, and the average annual value of each index is calculated.Statistical analysis was done to compare the differences between two groups.Results:1.The subjective pain score of the intervention group were significantly reduced, while the pain symptoms of the control group were not improved. The calcaneal pitch angle and the arch index in lateral position films of the intervention group when wearing orthopedic insoles obviously increased, while the talus-first metatarsal angle and the talocalcaneal angle in anteroposterior and lateral position films significantly reduced. No obvious changes of the above indexes were observed in the control group. But the control group showed no significant differences.2.There were no significant differences in the average annual value of each index between the insoles group and the no-insoles group. Conclusion:Custom orthopaedic insoles can improve the arch alignment of flatfoot children, relieve or reduce the pain symptoms of symptomatic flexible flatfoot, and short-term observations did not find custom orthopedic insoles to promote the development of the arch.
