Background:With the development and mature of the plantar pressureand gait analysis technology, its accuracy ascended continually, andmeasure index enriched gradually. Its utility in diagnosis and treatment inclinical medicine and rehabilitation has become wider and wider.Byanalyzing the data of plantar pressure,we can reveal the special changesof biomechanics in different foot diseases. We could also design shoepads for the very sick foot according to the results in order to cure footdiseases. This has been one of the new hot point in the medical profession. Objective:To explore the application of plantar pressure and gait analysistechniques in clinical and rehabilitation medicine in northeast China.Toreveal the characteristics in plantar pressure changes in variety of footdiseases,in order to provide references for clinical biomechanicaldiagnosis and rehabilitation treatment of foot diseases. To evaluate theimprovements of the symptoms and functions of the feet by thepersonalized insole which were designed based on the plantar pressuremeasurement.Participants and Methods:We collected19foot diseases cases fromboth inpatients and outpatients in our hospital from January1,2014toMay1,2014,including flat feet, heel pain, high arches and hallux valguspatients.Diagnosis was based on history, physical examination,X-rayexamination and other related checks.The19patients all underwentplantar pressure and gait analysis examination.Data was calculated andanalyzed, then the D3D insole were tailored according to it.We scored allthe patients at the time they came to our inpatient and outpatientdepartments with both Maryland foot function score and NRS painscore. And they were scored the second time after using the D3D insolefor one month.Line self-control study and statistical analysis were used to compare the scores. The goal was to assess the improvement of footfunction and the relief of foot pain after applying the D3D insole. Results:The Maryland foot function score and NRS pain score bothpre-application and post-application for one month of the D3D insolewere analyzed by paired “t” test. The results shew that, there was generalimprovement with statistical significance(P<0.05) in the the function ofthe foot which was with varies of foot diseases.Meanwhile, the NRS painscore has also been reduced with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusions: A variety of causes can induce foot force balance disordersand make foot away from the ideal state to bear weight for a longtime, which will cause foot diseases in the end.On the other hand, footlesions will also appear original foot biomechanics changes.Specificchanges on plantar pressure are presented in different foot diseases.Plantar pressure and gait analysis techniques can reveal the specificchanges of every foot disease and in each food. The personalized uniqueD3D insole designed according to each data of the test can improve thefoot symptoms and function effectively.Thereby increasing the quality oflife of the patients. With the development of measurement techniques, plantar pressure measurement technology will be more widely used inclinical medicine and rehabilitation practically.
