Barley is an important economic crop,which has a variety of commercial values such as beer brewing,livestock feeding and food and medicine health care.Compared with the big country of barley production in the world,the development of barley industry in China is relatively backward,the import dependence is serious,the quality is low,the quality is insufficient and so on.At the same time,modern breeding methods have resulted in the homogenization of barley cultivars in China,and the genetic background has become increasingly narrow.Introduction of barley from abroad can expand the gene pool of barley and increase the abundance of parent material in breeding,which is conducive to the selection and breeding of superior varieties,so as to solve the problems faced by barley industry in China to some extent.In this study,60 samples of wild barley and 30 samples of cultivated barley provided by GRDC were used as test objects,and their utilization value in breeding was preliminarily evaluated through investigation and statistics of their agronomic traits,grain physics and quality traits,and comparative analysis with domestic cultivated barley.Furthermore,through principal component analysis,correlation analysis and size analysis,the relationship between grain morphology and grain quality was explored,so as to clarify the relationship and provide help for the post-order breeding.The main results are as follows:1.Through the measurement and statistics of each character of the test materials,it is found that the imported materials,especially the wild materials,have a large change range and a high coefficient of variation compared with the domestic materials.The biggest variation coefficient of imported material was the seed oil content of imported wild barley,which was 38.53,and that of domestic barley was 25.33.The second is the introduction of wild barley 1000-grain weight of 30.11,the domestic material is 20.26,the gap is also large.These differences indicate that the imported materials have rich phenotypes and high diversity,and have great potential for development.2.Through the various characters of variance analysis found that the introduction of wild barley plant height with no difference between the domestic materials,but the ear first quarter length is longer,the overall center of gravity is lower,the introduction of cultivated barley plant height and ear first quarter length is shorter than the domestic materials,stem ratio less than domestic material,shows that introduction of materials in the lodging resistance has the very big use value.Grain area,grain circumference,grain length and grain width of imported cultivated barley were all larger than domestic materials,and the 1000-grain weight was the same as that of domestic materials.Introducing wild barley grain protein content and starch content is higher than domestic materials proportion,low fiber content proportion,nutrition proportion is very suitable for forage barley,the introduction of cultivated barley protein proportion is not high,the starch content of high,nutrition proportion is accord with the requirement of beer barley,but both beta glucan content are higher than domestic materials,to further improve it.3.Imported wild barley obtained 4 principal components in principal component analysis,with a cumulative contribution rate of 86.61%;The imported cultivated barley also obtained 4 principal components in principal component analysis,with a cumulative contribution rate of 91.77%.Among the principal components obtained from the two types of imported materials,there were principal components representing the relationship between the physical characters of grains,the relationship between grain quality characters and the relationship between grain quality and grain type.The selected principal components can provide some helpful information for the corresponding breeding work.4.Through correlation analysis and size analysis,it was found that grain diameter and grain width had a positive effect on grain weight of imported barley.Grain length had a positive effect on grain protein content.Grain-glucan content and fiber content have negative effects on each other.The relationship between these findings can also provide guidance and Suggestions for the subsequent utilization of these introduced materials in breeding.
